Great, but keep in mind that's just a workaround. Using the 'intel' driver is usually not recommended because it's getting old and buggy in other ways. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command only once, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal: apport-collect 1898823 When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu- bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs. Additional notes: This may not be possible with the actual ISO given it won't boot, an older ISO can be used which will fill in details, however please note the ISO used is different as the daily image date won't match the ISO you're experiencing the issue with. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Bug reporting is mostly about finding & fixing problems thus preventing future users from hitting the same bug. [Bug 1898806] Re: I get an error when I try to install R in Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS How can I fix it?
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1898806/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1894419] Re: Missing TextPane.background property in GTKLookAndFeel causes white background on dark theme
There may be another approach for fix this. Since OpenJDK BasicLookAndFeel.java set text background color to fixed 'white' color, it causes the issue. https://github.com/openjdk/jdk/blob/fb8ceae0a77fecb0b14de5bd00253e074b0aba90/src/java.desktop/share/classes/javax/swing/plaf/basic/BasicLookAndFeel.java#L1657-L1678 "TextPane.font", serifPlain12, "TextPane.background", white, "TextPane.foreground", textText, "TextPane.selectionBackground", textHighlight, "TextPane.selectionForeground", textHighlightText, "TextPane.caretForeground", textText, "TextPane.caretBlinkRate", caretBlinkRate, "TextPane.inactiveForeground", textInactiveText, "TextPane.border", marginBorder, "TextPane.margin", editorMargin, "EditorPane.font", serifPlain12, "EditorPane.background", white, "EditorPane.foreground", textText, "EditorPane.selectionBackground", textHighlight, "EditorPane.selectionForeground", textHighlightText, "EditorPane.caretForeground", textText, "EditorPane.caretBlinkRate", caretBlinkRate, "EditorPane.inactiveForeground", textInactiveText, "EditorPane.border", marginBorder, "EditorPane.margin", editorMargin, One idea is that we can change 'TextPane.background' to 'text' instead of 'white'. It would make side effects around all default LaFs other than Aqua. My proposed patch is a quick hack only to effect against GTKLaF. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1894419 Title: Missing TextPane.background property in GTKLookAndFeel causes white background on dark theme To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openjdk-lts/+bug/1894419/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1898814] [NEW] Under netplan with "renderer: networkd", Update-manager claims "No network connection detected, you can not download changelog information." even network is connected
Public bug reported: My network is cofigured under netplan using "renderer:networkd". Update-manager claims "No network connection detected, you can not download changelog information." , even the network is connected Even it's not a critical bug, Checking update detail with updatet- manager is sometime so convinient for me. So Ill be happy if this fixed! It seems UpdateManager/Core/roam.py does network connectivity check ONLY with NetworkManager statu via dbus. Checking network connectivity via netplan+networkd is also expected. [Bug 1888575] Re: Split motd-news config into a new package
My attempts to verify test case k) seem to indicate there is still a problem somewhere. I've verified i) that grub-legacy-ec2 is no longer in the server seed [1] iv) that the livecd.ubuntu-cpc.manifest contains grub-legacy-ec2 and ubuntu-server. However, ii) the rootfs manifest has not retained ubuntu-server iii) cpc "secret sauce" hooks which purge grub-legacy-ec2 have not retained ubuntu-server. The failure of ii) occurred in a livefs-build of the ubuntu-cpc project in the xenial branch livecd-rootfs at version 2.408.61 (02ea8c93). The failure of iii) occurred in a build of CPC "secret sauce" hooks using the Ubuntu Old Fashioned tool [2] and the same branch/revision of livecd-rootfs described above. [Bug 1898811] [NEW] Bluetooth toggle is on but bluetooth is off
Public bug reported: Description:Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS Release:20.04 I switched to Ubuntu from Windows 10 2 days ago and I am facing issues with Bluetooth. I have a Bluetooth headset which I want to connect to my laptop. At the start of fresh install, the bluetooth seemed to work fine, then after some time Whenever I switch the bluetooth toggle on, the bluetooth, the UI status remains the same similar to this question https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/541704/bluetooth-turned-off-even-if-switched-on and bluetooth doesn't switch on. *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1733292 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1733292 This appears to be a duplicate of bug 1733292 so please use that one from now on. Separately, I notice you seem to be using the *old* 'intel' graphics driver (according to XorgLog.txt). If you can find the Xorg config file (maybe in /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d) that is loading the 'intel' graphics driver then I recommend removing that. The latest driver is called 'modesetting' which should be used instead of 'intel'. And it will be used automatically if you remove the config file that was loading 'intel'. ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1733292 Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in point_on_screen from miPointerSetPosition from positionSprite from positionSprite from fill_pointer_events -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1898713 Title: Xorg crashes sometimes with Easystrokes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1898713/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1897224] Re: [snap] chromium won't start on Xwayland in Ubuntu 20.10: Unable to open X display
Looking at the reasoning behind that change, Mutter introduced lazy initialisation of Xwayland: binding the two sockets, and starting Xwayland when someone connected to the abstract namespace socket. Flatpak apps apparently can't speak to the abstract namespace socket, so would hang forever when started since the connection to the non-abstract /tmp/.X11-unix socket was never accepted. Rather than fixing the initialisation logic to start Xwayland on connect to either socket, they dropped the abstract namespace socket. I'll talk to the snapd folks about it, but this sounds like it should be dealt with on the Mutter side. ** Changed in: mutter (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1897224 Title: [snap] chromium won't start on Xwayland in Ubuntu 20.10: Unable to open X display To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/snapd/+bug/1897224/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 1893956] Re: Intel x710 LOMs do not work on Focal
Thanks Ian. I’ve pinged them again to test the proposed kernel. Unfortunately I do not have the hardware myself, otherwise I’d just do it. [Bug 1897224] Re: [snap] chromium won't start on Xwayland in Ubuntu 20.10: Unable to open X display
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/1424 is definitely the culprit here. Snaps depend on access to the abstract namespace socket to function correctly. Inside the sandboxes, snaps see a private /tmp that is under their complete control. So there is no /tmp/.X11-unix directory there. They can see the abstract namespace socket though, which the client libraries will use automatically. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1897224 Title: [snap] chromium won't start on Xwayland in Ubuntu 20.10: Unable to open X display To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/snapd/+bug/1897224/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1820929] Re: netplan should consider adding more udev attribute for exact matching of failover 3-netdev interfaces
Si-Wei, In the test environment I'm using, the only change needed was to initramfs-tools. I suspect the udevd change you're thinking of was an alternate implementation that we did not proceed with due to the regression it introduced (that network interface names would change). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1820929 Title: netplan should consider adding more udev attribute for exact matching of failover 3-netdev interfaces To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/netplan/+bug/1820929/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
