[Bug 1838151] Re: Poor quality audio with modern Bluetooth headsets in HSP/HFP. Missing wide band speech support (Bluetooth A2DP codecs).
@61, yes. I had tried it and it works. It also has mSBC support - https://github.com/Arkq/bluez-alsa/issues/29, but the author himself admits that mSBC support is buggy and is not being developed. I could get it to work, but the audio was very choppy. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1838151 Title: Poor quality audio with modern Bluetooth headsets in HSP/HFP. [Bug 1838151] Re: Poor quality audio with modern Bluetooth headsets in HSP/HFP. Missing wide band speech support (Bluetooth A2DP codecs).
@63 - your headset likely doesn't support mSBC (16 KHz), only CVSD (8KHz) in HFP/HSP mode. If that is the case, any fix - using a USB soundcard as you did, or a software fix (which this page is tracking) isn't gonna help. If it does support mSBC, 1Mii B10, and Avantree Leaf, Creative BT-W3 should be able to give decent quality audio. The definition of 'decent' varies of course. Most people in this age and time wouldn't be happy with 8 KHz (else, this page wouldn't exist), but mSBC is decent enough for most people, at least for typical voice calls. You can check the sampling frequency used very easily using Audacity > Record a few seconds using the mic in question > Analyze > Plot Spectrum. Note that Audacity plots in log scale for freq by default. If the highest freq component is just below 4 KHz, it is using CVSD @ 8 KHz sampling, and your headset is the likely culprit. If the highest component is 8 KHz, it is using mSBC @ 16 KHz. If you think that is not good enough, your options are limited. You can use FastStream (FS) which is supported only by a limited number of headsets, as well as by dongles such as Leaf, 1Mii B10, Creative BT-W2. No OS afaik supports it, so you can't use the dongle. Many devices have buggy implementations of FS. AptX LL also supposedly has bidirectional audio support, but the voiceback part is not supported by any device that I know of. ** Bug watch added: github.com/Arkq/bluez-alsa/issues #29 https://github.com/Arkq/bluez-alsa/issues/29 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1838151 Title: Poor quality audio with modern Bluetooth headsets in HSP/HFP. I think the question is whether there is documentation that states that zsys supports split /usr, and the answer for that is no. [Bug 1904671] Re: After a certain amount of time after the session is launched, mouse clicks are no longer accepted
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You've filed this bug against ubuntu-release-upgrader, but don't seem to describe a problem related to the upgrade process, so I'm a little confused by that. I get the (uneducated) feeling that it relates to GNOME, or the kernel (linux) but I'm unsure sorry. I would likely explore that probably using `xev` to ensure the mouse events are still recognized (ie. leaving that in a corner with terminal window visible)... It may help if you clarify why you filed against the upgrade process. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1904671 Title: After a certain amount of time after the session is launched, mouse clicks are no longer accepted To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1904671/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1904671] [NEW] After a certain amount of time after the session is launched, mouse clicks are no longer accepted
Public bug reported: X11, Wayland, the Gnome Desktop does not recognize mouse clicks and drags after several tens of minutes after launching. However, it does recognize the movement of the mouse cursor. [How To Reploduce] 1. login in a Gnome session. 2. launch some applications. 3. use it for a few dozen minutes. 4. attempt to click and drag with a mouse or other pointing device. [Actual Result] I can no longer select mouse click application windows, activity buttons, dashes, etc. [Expect Result] I will accept mouse clicks until the end of the session, and possibly hope that the event is executed when the click is made. This is a significant improvement over the current 11 minutes. I started up a c5.large instance, and attached 4x EBS drives, which do not support block discard, and went through the testcase steps. Everything worked fine, and the changes have not caused any regressions to disks which do not support block discard. I also started another i3.8xlarge instance and tested raid0, to check for regressions around the refactoring. raid0 deployed fine, and was as performant as usual. The 4.15.0-125-generic kernel in -proposed fixes the issue, and I am happy to mark as verified. ** Tags removed: verification-needed-bionic ** Tags added: verification-done-bionic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1896578 Title: raid10: Block discard is very slow, causing severe delays for mkfs and fstrim operations To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1896578/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Since this was declared fixed in Ubuntu 21.04 and 20.10 already it would mess up the bug tracking to say the same fix isn't good enough in 20.04. And nobody's saying it's not an improvement. So I suggest we accept it as is, declare this bug fixed, and then open a new bug about the remaining performance problem. Because aside from anything else the upstream bug is also closed so a new one of them would also need to be opened. ** Tags removed: verification-needed verification-needed-focal ** Tags added: verification-done verification-done-focal -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1849142 Title: appindicator extension slows down GUI spamming the log with "[AppIndicatorSupport-FATAL] unable to lookup icon ..." or "Impossible to lookup icon" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell-extension-appindicator/+bug/1849142/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

It looks like this was intended to be the fix: https://github.com/ubuntu/gnome-shell-extension- appindicator/commit/745c66a73e0 If that's true then perhaps an idler is still too frequent.
