[Bug 849413] Re: xdg-open spitting out debug messages on start
It seems these tracing messages are outputted by the kde-open5 utility. I do not think we should hide at xdg-utils level any messages from underlying tools. However, you may redirect unneeded output on your own. $ xdg-open readme.pdf >/dev/null ** Changed in: xdg-utils (Ubuntu) Status: New => Opinion -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/849413 Title: xdg-open spitting out debug messages on start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xdg-utils/+bug/849413/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1908429] Re: gnome-shell fills syslog: Attempting to run a JS callback during garbage collection. This is most likely caused by destroying a Clutter actor or GTK widget with ::destroy signal conn
In addition to my previous entry (I can't seem to edit it), I'd like to say the "unbearable" switching from window to window means 5-15 seconds. For me, this flood of errors appears as the end result of something else taking place. For me, that only started after the observed drastic sluggishness of the UI. That had happened before, though I didn't check any logs. Actually with qbittorrent, there was no obvious high system load, and digikam did perform well in the background (memory usage also no more than 60-70%) as the progress showed (up to 14:45) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1908429 Title: gnome-shell fills syslog: Attempting to run a JS callback during garbage collection. [Bug 1908429] Re: gnome-shell fills syslog: Attempting to run a JS callback during garbage collection. This is most likely caused by destroying a Clutter actor or GTK widget with ::destroy signal conn
I can confirm the same effect for myself, Ubuntu 20.04 grep -n -m 1 '8 23:58:00' syslog.1 843618574:Jan 8 23:58:00 smallbox gnome-shell[3313]: The offending callback was SourceFunc() $ grep -n -m 1 '8 23:59:00' syslog.1 845405757:Jan 8 23:59:00 smallbox gnome-shell[3313]: The offending callback was SourceFunc(). That is close to 1.8 Million entries per minute. Eventually the disk was full after 250GB of logs. Background: I had in the past (also with 18.04) noticed that the UI gets very sluggish at occasions, e.g. when running qbittorrent for some days. At this time digikam (7.2beta) was running its face recognition (I allowed all CPUs) using 70-90% CPU. There is a high amount of disk I/O. Initially that caused no significant impact on the usage. After about 5 hours, the UI got sluggish, after 24h it became unbearable to click from one window to another. I disabled the screenlock (logging in took about 2 min by now). At about 14:45 waking up the screen, displayed the favorites bar plus the big clock (frozen) on fuzzy background, a login field did not appear. Hoping at least digikam would finish, I left it until the next morning. After a power-off and some hassles of clearing disk space, I had working machine again. I have attached an extract of the syslog from around 14:45 when things went bad. If of interest, I still have the full syslogs and can find bits in there. The package information is not available on my copy of ubuntu because I installed some extra software - python 3 upgrades etc. The system options such as mouse functions should be in the kernel not an application package. I believe the bug report was clear. Also yes, a bug can be in more than one "source package" and indeed it is "just filed against Ubuntu" which handles left handed "mice" incorrectly. Leaving "maybe-ubiquity" in, I was left with a black screen with no way to resume. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1903378 Title: ubiquity in live session and ubiquity-dm fails to start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1903378/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1910885] Re: Details->About->Graphics: llvmpipe
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1910885/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 424044]
Dear Yury, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! [Bug 1910875] Re: Broadcom wireless driver failed to install with code 10 on focal 20.04
I'm new to Linux, so bear with me, but...Within the last hour or so I installed a bunch of system updates in KDE Discover, and suddenly wifi stopped working after the enforced restart. By "stopped working", I mean I have no internet connection via wifi and `nmcli dev` no longer lists my wireless device "wlp2so" *at all*. I'm on an Apple MacBookPro9,2 running 20.04 with KDE. "Driver Manger" tells me I'm using "Broadcom 802.11 Linux STA wireless driver source from bcmwl-kernel-source (proprietary)", for the BCM4331 device. I tried clicking "Do not use the device" and then re-enabling it but I got some cryptic error. Upon re-opening Driver Manager it again says I'm using the proprietary driver. [Bug 1910875] [NEW] Broadcom wireless driver failed to install with code 10 on focal 20.04
Public bug reported: First, I suspect this may be the same bug as Bug #1905211 "package bcmwl-kernel-source 6.30.223.271+bdcom-0ubuntu5 failed focal fossa in kernel v5.9" because I got the same error "installed bcmwl-kernel-source package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 10". [Bug 1627157] Re: Steam is not searchable and installable
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The problem is that the steam package is i386 but the host is amd64, gnome-software then doesn't show i386 software in it's listing. Since around 18.04 a steam-installer package is available which is available on amd64, this package then depends on the i386 package steam. So you should be able to search and install the steam-installer package since 18.04 - therefore I am marking this bug as fixed released. ** Changed in: steam (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1627157 Title: Steam is not searchable and installable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/steam/+bug/1627157/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1909941] Re: xdg-email changes break simple-scan email functionality
This is different to the old bug. Prior to the recent change to xdg- email, simple scan "send by email" was working fine. I think that the problem is because xdg-email assembles command line arguments such as -attach to form a mailto: URL and passes that to run_thunderbird, which recently got changed to drop the attachment field from the mailto: url (I think on the assumption that the mailto: url could only come from a browser click). The proper fix would probably be to break any command line mailto: URL down into component parts and drop any "attach" argument before reassembling as today, and reinstate the code removed in the recent change. In the above simple-scan bug report I added a patch which just reinstated the original code but only if the caller is not Chrome/Chromium as those are the only browsers in question in my environment (Firefox appears to call Thunderbird directly). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1909941 Title: xdg-email changes break simple-scan email functionality To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xdg-utils/+bug/1909941/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1910871] Re: Ubuntu 21.04 QA Testing Release notes hyperlink opens to wrong page
To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1910871/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.
