[Bug 1926398] [NEW] Nautilus doesn't show folder name in Operations dialog
Public bug reported: When I copy a directory from one disk to another, Nautilus won't show its name next to the progress bar. It simply says "Copying N files to diskName". I think it should say something like: "Copying N files in directoryName to diskName". Reason: When you copy 2 big directories with a lot of files to the same destination and want to know which one is which, you can't differentiate between them since the directory name is not shown. If you want to cancel one of them, you also don't know which X button to click. See my attached screenshot. [Bug 1926395] Re: apagado inesperado
Translation: unexpected shutdown I'm using my notebook and suddenly it shuts down, on trying to boot it it spends several minutes with a black screen and then a white flash and it repeats 3 times, then the purple image shows up and stays there for several minutes and finally the user shows up This is not a bug in ubiquity, which is the installer for Ubuntu. It may be a kernel issue, so I'm reassigning this bug report to the linux package. However, the most likely explanation for the behavior shown would be a hardware failure. ** Package changed: ubiquity (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1926395 Title: apagado inesperado To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1926395/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

If I fix the mailto.desktop file by removing the quotes, the query performs as expected: $ xdg-mime query default 'x-scheme-handler/mailto' mailto.desktop Running in verbose mode doesn't give any further information, i.e., that the .desktop file was passed over in search because it was invalid: $ # bad $ XDG_UTILS_DEBUG_LEVEL= xdg-mime query default 'x-scheme-handler/mailto' --verbose Checking /home/duncan/.config/mimeapps.list Checking /home/duncan/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list Checking /home/duncan/.local/share/applications/defaults.list and /home/duncan/.local/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache Checking /home/duncan/.local/share/applications/defaults.list and /home/duncan/.local/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache Checking /usr/share/stumpwm/applications/defaults.list and /usr/share/stumpwm/applications/mimeinfo.cache Checking /usr/share/stumpwm/applications/defaults.list and /usr/share/stumpwm/applications/mimeinfo.cache Checking /usr/local/share//applications/defaults.list and /usr/local/share//applications/mimeinfo.cache Checking /usr/local/share//applications/defaults.list and /usr/local/share//applications/mimeinfo.cache Checking /usr/share//applications/defaults.list and /usr/share//applications/mimeinfo.cache thunderbird.desktop $ # good $ XDG_UTILS_DEBUG_LEVEL= xdg-mime query default 'x-scheme-handler/mailto' --verbose Checking /home/duncan/.config/mimeapps.list mailto.desktop ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.10 Package: xdg-utils 1.1.3-2ubuntu1.20.10.2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.8.0-50.56-generic 5.8.18 Uname: Linux 5.8.0-50-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_modeset nvidia ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu50.5 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: skip Date: Wed Apr 28 12:39:08 2021 InstallationDate: Installed on 2020-11-03 (175 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 20.10 "Groovy Gorilla" - Release amd64 (20201022) PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: xdg-utils UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: xdg-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug groovy -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1926393 Title: xdg-mime silently ignores invalid .desktop file To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xdg-utils/+bug/1926393/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1926205] Re: graphic interface faulty
Confirmation: with Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS everything works just fine, smooth, fast, sound and brilliant, as usual. Boot is fast and left side dock loads instantly. Touch screen + mouse - no problem. Dynamic work-spaces - no any problem. Even "contacts" Gnome application connect to Google account, which is not done under 21.04 so, the problems are really somewhere in the 21.04 release; HP ENVY x360 hardware platform (AMD® Ryzen 5 4500u with Radeon graphics, AMD® Renoir) is ok and compatible. if I can do something to help debug this problem, please message me. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1926205 Title: graphic interface faulty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1926205/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1926254] Re: x509 Certificate verification fails when basicConstraints=CA:FALSE, pathlen:0 on self-signed leaf certs
** Description changed: [Impact] In openssl 1.1.1f, the below commit was merged: commit ba4356ae4002a04e28642da60c551877eea804f7 Author: Bernd Edlinger Date: Sat Jan 4 15:54:53 2020 +0100 Subject: Fix error handling in x509v3_cache_extensions and related functions Link: https://github.com/openssl/openssl/commit/ba4356ae4002a04e28642da60c551877eea804f7 This introduced a regression which caused certificate validation to fail when certificates violate RFC 5280 [1], namely, when a certificate has "basicConstraints=CA:FALSE,pathlen:0". This combination is commonly seen by self-signed leaf certificates with an intermediate CA before the root CA. Because of this, openssl 1.1.1f rejects these certificates and they cannot be used in the system certificate store, and ssl connections fail when you try to use them to connect to a ssl endpoint. The error you see when you try verify is: $ openssl verify -CAfile CA/rootCA_cert.pem -untrusted CA/subCA_cert.pem user1_cert.pem error 20 at 0 depth lookup: unable to get local issuer certificate error user1_cert.pem: verification failed The exact same certificates work fine on Xenial, Bionic and Hirsute. [1] https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5280.html [Testcase] We will create our own root CA, intermediate CA and leaf server certificate. Create necessary directories: $ mkdir reproducer $ cd reproducer $ mkdir CA Write openssl configuration files to disk for each CA and cert: $ cat << EOF >> rootCA.cnf [ req ] prompt = no distinguished_name = req_distinguished_name x509_extensions = usr_cert [ req_distinguished_name ] C = DE O = Test Org CN = Test RSA PSS Root-CA [ usr_cert ] basicConstraints= critical,CA:TRUE keyUsage= critical, keyCertSign,cRLSign subjectKeyIdentifier= hash authorityKeyIdentifier = keyid:always EOF $ cat << EOF >> subCA.cnf [ req ] prompt = no distinguished_name = req_distinguished_name x509_extensions = usr_cert [ req_distinguished_name ] C = DE O = Test Org CN = Test RSA PSS Sub-CA [ usr_cert ] basicConstraints= critical,CA:TRUE,pathlen:0 keyUsage= critical, keyCertSign,cRLSign subjectKeyIdentifier= hash authorityKeyIdentifier = keyid:always EOF $ cat << EOF >> user.cnf [ req ] prompt = no distinguished_name = req_distinguished_name x509_extensions = usr_cert [ req_distinguished_name ] C = DE O = Test Org CN = Test User [ usr_cert ] basicConstraints= critical,CA:FALSE,pathlen:0 keyUsage= critical, digitalSignature, keyAgreement extendedKeyUsage= clientAuth, serverAuth subjectKeyIdentifier= hash authorityKeyIdentifier = keyid:always EOF Then generate the necessary RSA keys and form certificates: $ openssl genpkey -algorithm RSA-PSS -out rootCA_key.pem -pkeyopt rsa_keygen_bits:2048 $ openssl req -config rootCA.cnf -set_serial 01 -new -batch -sha256 -nodes -x509 -days 9125 -out CA/rootCA_cert.pem -key rootCA_key.pem -sigopt rsa_padding_mode:pss -sigopt rsa_pss_saltlen:-1 $ openssl genpkey -algorithm RSA-PSS -out subCA_key.pem -pkeyopt rsa_keygen_bits:2048 $ openssl req -config subCA.cnf -new -out subCA_req.pem -key subCA_key.pem -sigopt rsa_padding_mode:pss -sigopt rsa_pss_saltlen:-1 $ openssl x509 -req -sha256 -in subCA_req.pem -CA CA/rootCA_cert.pem -CAkey rootCA_key.pem -out CA/subCA_cert.pem -CAserial rootCA_serial.txt -CAcreateserial -extfile subCA.cnf -extensions usr_cert -days 4380 -sigopt rsa_padding_mode:pss -sigopt rsa_pss_saltlen:-1 $ c_rehash CA $ openssl genpkey -algorithm RSA-PSS -out user1_key.pem -pkeyopt rsa_keygen_bits:2048 $ openssl req -config user.cnf -new -out user1_req.pem -key user1_key.pem -sigopt rsa_padding_mode:pss -sigopt rsa_pss_saltlen:-1 $ openssl x509 -req -sha256 -in user1_req.pem -CA CA/subCA_cert.pem -CAkey subCA_key.pem -out user1_cert.pem -CAserial subCA_serial.txt -CAcreateserial -extfile user.cnf -extensions usr_cert -days 1825 -sigopt rsa_padding_mode:pss -sigopt rsa_pss_saltlen:-1 Now, let's try verify the generated certificates: $ openssl version OpenSSL 1.1.1f 31 Mar 2020 $ openssl verify -CAfile CA/rootCA_cert.pem -untrusted CA/subCA_cert.pem user1_cert.pem error 20 at 0 depth lookup: unable to get local issuer certificate error user1_cert.pem: verification failed There are test packages available in the following ppa: https://launchpad.net/~mruffell/+archive/ubuntu/sf308725-test If you install these test packages, and attempt to verify, things work as planned. + $ openssl verify -CAfile CA/rootCA_cert.pem -untrusted CA/subCA_cert.pem user1_cert.pem + user1_cert.pem: OK + [Where problems could occur] If a regression were to occur, it would occur around x509

[Bug 1926216] Re: drag and select does not work correctly on one monitor
I have the same issue and can add the following info which is hopefully useful. My setup is 3 1920x1080 monitors. When I try a mouse click operation on the left most monitor then everything behaves correctly. When I try the same on the middle monitor the selected horizontal region is larger (as shown in the video). It appears to be extended (right of the cursor) by the width of the monitor (i.e. 1920 pixels). When I try the same on the right most monitor the selected horizontal region extends off the screen (and I can't tell how far) but also the vertical selection is extended down by what appears to be the height of the monitor / 2 (i.e. 540). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1926216 Title: drag and select does not work correctly on one monitor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1926216/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1926321] Re: [MIR] telegraf
** Description changed: [ Availability ] The telegraf package has been part of Ubuntu's universe repository since Groovy. It successfully builds and the tests pass on all supported architectures: amd64, arm64, armhf, ppc64el, riscv64 and s390x. [ Rationale ] Telegraf is part of a suite of programs referred to as LMA (Logging, Monitoring and Alert). It is responsible for the Logging; prometheus, prometheus-alertmanager and grafana are the other components of this solution. We, the Ubuntu Server team, have been maintaining the package for the last several months, and we now would like to proceed with the MIR process for it. The telegraf package is being used as the building block of the equivalent telegraf OCI image (see https://hub.docker.com/repository/docker/ubuntu/telegraf), which is an official image provided and supported by Canonical. It is important to also note that the security team is already providing tracking and notification of potential vulnerabilities and CVEs on this OCI image, which means that, indirectly, the Ubuntu telegraf package is already being treated more or less as a main package. [ Security ] Unfortunately, due to the large number of unpackaged Golang dependencies, it was not possible to package telegraf in Debian first and then sync it to Ubuntu. For this reason, the Ubuntu telegraf package contains hundreds of vendorized Golang dependencies inside its orig tarball. I could not find any CVEs for telegraf itself on http://cve.mitre.org/ (the only thing I found was related to telegraf's official OCI image, which does not apply to this MIR). While analysing the Golang dependencies, I have found the following CVEs: - For github.com/dgrijalva/jwt-go/v4: https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2020-26160 This vulnerability does not affect the current version that is in Hirsute/Impish. - For github.com/gogo/protobuf: https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2021-3121 This vulnerability is being addressed at the time of this writing, both by upstream and by us. - For github.com/hashicorp/consul: https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2020-7219 https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2018-19653 https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2020-28053 https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2020-13250 These vulnerabilities do affect the current version in Hirsute/Impish, but they are not trivial to fix and we are working with upstream to address them. - For github.com/prometheus/prometheus/ https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2019-3826 - These vulnerability does affect the current version in Hirsute/Impish, - but it is not trivial to fix and we are working with upstream to - address it. + These vulnerability does *not* affect the latest upstream version of + telegraf, which is being packaged for Impish. The only clear violation to the policy, as mentioned above, is the fact that all Golang modules are vendorized (bundled) in the source package. Otherwise,

[Bug 1926373] [NEW] Missing header files for Qt3DExtras:
Public bug reported: Unable to build most examples contained in the qt3d5-examples (and, of course, any code that relies on Qt3DExtras). This is caused by a missing development package with headers for Qt3DExtras. The Qt3DExtras binary library (libQt53DExtras.so) is included in the qt3d5-dev package, but all the Qt3DExtras header files are missing (Qt3DExtras/QForwardRenderer, Qt3DExtras/QPhongMaterial, etc...). This makes QT OpenGL development in Ubuntu pretty much unusable. At first, installing mssql-mlservices-python and manually copying it's version of the Qt3DExtras headers seemed to be a work-around, but it resulted in undefined references during linking. I would have tagged "qt3d5-examples" in the "In what package did you find this bug?", but it tells me that the package doesn't exist in ubuntu, whereas https://packages.ubuntu.com/focal/qt3d5-examples clearly lists it ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: qt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1926373 Title: Missing header files for Qt3DExtras: To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1926373/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
