[Bug 1910908] Re: Web-login page for captive portals not opening on public wireless networks

[Bug 1932328] Re: Thunderbird under Wayland does not correctly close (or manage) windows
I experience this bug under Wayland in Pop!_OS 21.04, which uses a custom fork of Dash to Dock (Cosmic Dock).[*] I found a clunky workaround: * Select File -> Send Later (ctl-shift-enter): message is saved to Outbox. * Select File -> Send Unsent Messages. This method does not create a "ghost window". But it's nearly as annoying as the bug itself. I had to remove the "Send" button from the Composition toolbar to keep me from reflexively clicking it. (I should really just switch TB to run under Xwayland, but I'm pigheaded.) [Bug 1942971] [NEW] Progress buttons go out of the screen in the VirtualBox (800x600 fixed screen size), when one of CJK languages is selected
Public bug reported: This problem occurs from the installation of the Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS image, and if one of CJK languages is selected. (maybe it also seems occuring from the Ubuntu 21.04) I was about to try go to the "Next" after each doing selection of installation property. but < Back, Next > and Cancel buttons are out of the screen, so every user cannot select by mouse, just some of expert user can guess each button's position by pressing "Tab" key. there is wide space internally in the installation window, it's like that .. Its spaces should be shrinked. I am teaching the way of handling linux shell terminal to many students. [Bug 1942972] [NEW] Update fix for LP: #1936708
Public bug reported: [Impact] There's a new fix for LP: #1936708, and it's more reliable than the old approach. So replace it. [Fix] Use eDP as predicate to enable max params. [Test] Users confirmed the fix can resolve their issue. [Where problems could occur] This patch reverts to the old behavior, which is to use max parameters, for older panels. If there's any new panel reports with older eDP version, this might change the behavior on it. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Affects: linux-oem-5.13 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Affects: linux-oem-5.14 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: Won't Fix ** Affects: linux-oem-5.13 (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Affects: linux-oem-5.14 (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Hirsute) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Affects: linux-oem-5.13 (Ubuntu Hirsute) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Affects: linux-oem-5.14 (Ubuntu Hirsute) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Impish) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Affects: linux-oem-5.13 (Ubuntu Impish) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Affects: linux-oem-5.14 (Ubuntu Impish) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Impish) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-oem-5.13 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: linux-oem-5.13 (Ubuntu Impish) Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Focal) Status: New => Won't Fix ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Impish) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: linux-oem-5.13 (Ubuntu Focal) Status: New => Confirmed ** Also affects: linux-oem-5.14 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: linux-oem-5.14 (Ubuntu Focal) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: linux-oem-5.14 (Ubuntu Impish) Status: New => Invalid ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Hirsute) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-oem-5.13 (Ubuntu Hirsute) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-oem-5.14 (Ubuntu Hirsute) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Hirsute) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: linux-oem-5.13 (Ubuntu Hirsute) Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: linux-oem-5.14 (Ubuntu Hirsute) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1942972 Title: Update fix for LP: #1936708 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1942972/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1942955] [NEW] Ubuntu MATE 20.04.3 installer crashed
Public bug reported: Where to start. Apparently the iso (ubuntu-mate-20.04.3-desktop- amd64.iso) assumes every computer runs Windows and has small disks (2 TB or smaller). The "Disk Image Writer" formats the jump drive as MBR with bootable partition, a EFI partition for Windows compatibility and the rest of the drive (59GB) as unusable. I purchased a 1TB WD Blue SATA SSD and tried to install in it. The first five times failed. The drive was initially blank and the installer disabled the Install button. I used 18.04 Disks to creat the GUID partition table and create the UEFI System Partition, the Ubuntu MATE partition, the Linux swap partition, and a NTFS data partition. I was at least able to start the installation. Then the installer crashed. [Bug 1942949] [NEW] PulseAudio Preferences options disabled
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS x86_64 fully updated with apt. My installed packages: ii pulseaudio 1:13.99.1-1ubuntu3.11 amd64PulseAudio sound server ii paprefs1.1-1build1 amd64PulseAudio Preferences Running paprefs to enable options shows everything disabled/unavailable. Specifically options for Network Access, Network Server, etc are all greyed out and not selectable. Using this workaround found online, options within paprefs are all enabled: ln -s /usr/lib/pulse-13.99.1 /usr/lib/pulse-13.99 After, setting option to 'Make discoverable Apple AirTunes sound devices available locally' now works and audio output to such a device works perfectly.
