[Bug 1953121] [NEW] jks-keystore hook fails with "java: not found" during package install
Public bug reported: This is a fresh report of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ca- certificates-java/+bug/1406483 with same steps to reproduce. Currently it can be reproduced in both impish and jammy. ca-certificates-java installs /etc/ca-certificates/update.d/jks-keystore that's being run as part of package installation. The hook is run before update-alternatives installs /usr/bin/java. The script modifies its own PATH by looking for known JRE (or JDK) installs in /usr/lib/jvm. However, the list of known JREs is hardcoded and outdated. When ca- certificatges-java is installed as a dependency of openjdk-17-jre- headless, no known JRE is found, and PATH is unchanged, so there's no java in PATH when this is first JRE being installed on the system. The fix in linked bug synced from Debian just adds paths of newer JREs to check. Currently paths up to Java 11 are checked. This issue will keep resurfacing unless ca-certificates-java is kept up to date with latest JRE in archives, or the search for JRE is changed. Steps to reproduce in official Docker jammy image (where no JRE is installed): $ sudo docker run ubuntu:impish bash -c 'apt-get update && apt-get install -y openjdk-17-jre-headless' ** Affects: ca-certificates-java (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: impish jammy ** Description changed: This is a fresh report of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ca- certificates-java/+bug/1406483 with same steps to reproduce. [Bug 1922406]
For me, I'm on Debian testing (bookworm) with the latest debian-released kernel 5.15.0, I have no problems anymore. I did'nt have problem with 5.13 either actually. And the mentioned problem from me above, about not having both bluetooth and the wifi side of the chip working at the same time, has also gone away. So which kernel are you considering? The fix of removing the pnvm-file in /lib/firmware works without problem if you really need to move up to a higher revision of the kernel I guess. //Niclas -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1922406 Title: Intel AX210 Wi-Fi card does not work since updating to 1.196 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1922406/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

We've discussed this in private, so you know that my preference is (c). Although you could merge 9.16.2x right now, this would mean going "ahead" of Debian (in the sense that we'd be releasing a version that is not and has never been present in unstable), which requires a bit more work than a regular merge, and then maybe throwing this away if/when upstream releases 9.18 and Debian picks it up (assuming they both do this before our Feature Freeze). So yeah, I think we should postpone this merge to the beginning of February and reassess the situation when we get there. If there's no 9.18 by then, you can merge 9.16.2x and be done with it. [Bug 1942624] Re: NVME "can't change power state from D3Cold to D0 (config space inaccessible)"
I also encounter this bug in the impish 5.13 kernel. The machine boots, but without one of the NVMe devices. This is on a very recent Razer Blade 15 laptop (RZ09-0409x) with two NVMe drives. One with windows and one with Ubuntu. Upstream kernel 5.15 did not have this issue. I was able to bisect the fix back to bc2836859643 ACPI: PM: Do not turn off power resources in unknown state This patch is marked as fixing a commit that first landed in 5.14, but this commit was a rework, and the actual broken logic was introduced much earlier in 5.13. As such, the fix requires a few additional cherry picks. On 5.13.0-22-generic $ dmesg | grep nvme [sudo] password for ubuntu: [1.266638] nvme nvme0: pci function :02:00.0 [1.266646] nvme :02:00.0: can't change power state from D3cold to D0 (config space inaccessible) [1.266696] nvme nvme1: pci function :03:00.0 [1.267189] nvme nvme0: Removing after probe failure status: -19 [1.273614] nvme nvme1: missing or invalid SUBNQN field. Opts: (null). Quota mode: none. [4.584787] EXT4-fs (nvme1n1p2): re-mounted. Opts: errors=remount-ro. Quota mode: none. First nvme device does not show up in lsblk. After apply the following patch set to the master-next of the impish kernel, 587024b8210d ACPI: power: Use u8 as the power resource state data type ca84f18798a4 ACPI: power: Save the last known state of each power resource 6381195ad7d0 ACPI: power: Rework turning off unused power resources db9b6d87a8d4 ACPI: power: Use dev_dbg() to print some messages fad40a624854 ACPI: power: Use acpi_handle_debug() to print debug messages bc2836859643 ACPI: PM: Do not turn off power resources in unknown state The nvme power state error is no longer present, and the device loads properly. Also, the fixing patch was marked for inclusion in 5.14 stable, but never made it since it did not cherry pick cleanly. Just the last two patches in the above list are needed for the 5.14 kernel. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1942624 Title: NVME "can't change power state from D3Cold to D0 (config space inaccessible)" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1942624/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1953035] Re: blank screen after loging in ubuntu 22.04's wayland session at gnome-boxes
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Package changed: wayland (Ubuntu) => gnome-shell (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1953035 Title: blank screen after loging in ubuntu 22.04's wayland session at gnome- boxes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1953035/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1780746] Re: oping (and noping) require root access to run
> I will consult with the wider SRU team on their opinion of this pattern of digging up old bugs in old LTSes and fixing them. I spoke to another SRU team member who concurred. We're not willing to accept an SRU unless there is at least one user reported or expected to benefit from it. Therefore, for now, I'm rejecting this upload and marking it Won't Fix. If there is anyone still affected, please let us know by commenting on this bug, and we can pick it up again. ** Changed in: liboping (Ubuntu Bionic) Status: Incomplete => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1780746 Title: oping (and noping) require root access to run To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/liboping/+bug/1780746/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1948764] Re: Fail to pass suspend/resume test
It seems to me that there's no reason why a user of this package couldn't have either: a) changed the configuration in /etc/X11/Xwrapper.config to not require root - my understanding is that with the current package that would work, or b) Built a custom image using this package that did not contain the /etc/X11/Xwrapper.conf If either of those are plausible, then when they pull updates and upgrade to this new package, their systems will break. Is there any ballpark estimate for how hard it would be to fix the suspend issue *without* regressing the run-as-not-root case? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1948764 Title: Fail to pass suspend/resume test To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xf86-video-armsoc-endlessm/+bug/1948764/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
