[Bug 1776030] Re: Backup fails with "an unknown error"

2021-12-17 Thread Barry Martin
Update on what I found

The easiest and fastest way to ‘correct’ is to create a new directory to
back up to and change the storage location to the new back up point. I
looked at permissions as suggested in one of the posts above:

barry@NZXT:~$ getfacl/media/NSA320_Backups/DejaDup_NZXT_02
getfacl: Removing leading '/' from absolute path names
# file: media/NSA320_Backups/DejaDup_NZXT_02
# owner: barry
# group: barry
user::rwx
group::rwx
other::rwx

barry@NZXT:~$ ls -lS /media/NSA320_Backups
total 0
drwxrwxrwx 2 barry barry 0 Apr 29 2020 Backend_3
drwxrwxrwx 2 barry barry 0 Oct 25 19:24 DejaDup_NZXT_01
drwxrwxrwx 2 barry barry 0 Dec 17 02:36 DejaDup_NZXT_02

barry@NZXT:~$ ls -lS /media/NSA320_Backups/DejaDup_NZXT_02

-rwxrwxrwx 1 barry barry187 Jul 30 03:33
duplicity-inc.20210729T082208Z.to.20210730T082213Z.manifest
-rwxrwxrwx 1 barry barry187 Aug 10 03:33
duplicity-inc.20210809T082232Z.to.20210810T082229Z.manifest

To me looks like everyone and their uncle can do what they want (so
chmod 777?). No idea. LIS, I created and pointed to a new directory
and it’s making a full backup now.

[Bug 1955277] [NEW] Hirsute update: upstream stable patchset 2021-12-17

2021-12-17 Thread Kamal Mostafa
Public bug reported:

SRU Justification

Impact:
The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar
in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to
demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream
by originating either directly from a mainline/stable Linux tree or
a minimally backported form of that patch. The following upstream
stable patches should be included in the Ubuntu kernel:

[Bug 1951894] Re: Merge steam 1.0.0.74-1 from debian sid to ubuntu jammy

2021-12-17 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package steam - 1:1.0.0.74-1ubuntu1

---
steam (1:1.0.0.74-1ubuntu1) jammy; urgency=medium

  * Merge from Debian Sid (LP: #1951894), remaining changes:
- Add steam-installer package that depends on steam and contains
appstream metadata to allow Steam to be installed via appsteam enabled
  software centers.
- Drop appstream metadata from steam package as we have it in
steam-installer
- Drop debian/steam.preinst because the dconf question it is not supported
  by all software centers.
- Modify template-helper script for Ubuntu.
- Modify debian/steam.bug-control for Ubuntu.
- Disable copyright-helper script in debian/rules.
- Nvidia packaging differences to Debian.
  * debian/control: bump libnvidia-gl suggests packages
  * debian/steam-installer.install: use valve appdata rather than our own

[Bug 1955009] Re: Freeradius 3.0.21+dfsg-3build1 fails test of moonshot-gss-eap

2021-12-17 Thread Andreas Hasenack
Plain 3.0.25 didn't work, and I had to patch it because openssl3 got rid
of FIPS_mode(). I didn't cherry pick any other changes from master, but
there may be others. Might try the v3.0.x branch

[Bug 1955109] Re: boot menu not appearing after manual install of jellyfish daily build

2021-12-17 Thread ajgreeny
I noticed this problem yesterday, 16 December 2021, but it is easy enough to
overcome with an additional line added to /etc/default/grub
GRUB_DISABLE_OS_PROBER=false

There are other methods as well, adding the boot stanza of a missing OS
to /etc/grub.d/40_custom file.

You need to update grub after either edit with
sudo update-grub

[Bug 1950193] Re: libqt5svg5 affected by CVE-2021-38593

2021-12-17 Thread Robert Löhning
I tested this in a VM with a freshly installed Ubuntu 20.04 Desktop.
Following the steps in the description with released version
5.12.8+dfsg-0ubuntu1 freezes the entire VM.

After upgrading all the Qt packages to 5.12.8+dfsg-0ubuntu2 from
proposed repo, the test program finishes immediately as expected. To
upgrade, I used the following command line:

sudo aptitude install -V qtbase5-dev/focal-proposed
libqt5concurrent5/focal-proposed libqt5core5a/focal-proposed
libqt5dbus5/focal-proposed libqt5gui5/focal-proposed qt5-qmake/focal-

[Bug 1941752]

2021-12-17 Thread David-0704
Created attachment 144631
New crash information added by DrKonqi

gwenview (21.08.1) using Qt 5.15.2

- What I was doing when the application crashed: I was trying to open a
.jpg. All .jpg's in that folder crash; I can open jpg's from different
folders. If I copy the jpg's that crash to a diffent folder they open
(no crash). The afected folder is a copy of my old windows 10 desktop.
PNG images in the same folder as the crashy jpg's open just fine.

[Bug 1953196] Re: gnome-terminal misreads a fediverse identifier as an email

2021-12-17 Thread themusicgod1
So this patch actually *does* kind of work but only on the gnome-
terminal level (and includes some shotgun debugging). Something deeper
needs to happen in order to actually make this work - ie bringing up a
fediverse client of some kind or a web browser if that's not available.

[Bug 1955077] Re: pypy3-lib-testsuite: installation results in SyntaxError

2021-12-17 Thread Stefano Rivera
This isn't a serious failure, just a failure to byte-compile a single
file, that isn't parseable by pypy3. It's using the new positional-only
parameters, which appeared in Python 3.8, but pypy3 is still targetting
Python 3.7.

You can safely ignore this.

[Bug 1955172] [NEW] package mysql-server-8.0 8.0.27-0ubuntu0.20.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: installed mysql-server-8.0 package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1

2021-12-17 Thread Ray Collett
Public bug reported:

I did a do-release-upgrade from v16 to v18, then immediately ran do-
release-upgrade to install v20.

Installer wanted to send in this report. I don't yet understand what
failed, or why.

May be related...? But during the v18 to v20 release upgrade,
phpmyadmin failed to upgrade it's database. I discovered that mysql was
not running. It refused to start, with an error that it was blocked.
Never encountered this error before. I was able to start mysql after
running 'systemctl unmask mysql.service'. Not sure what service masking
is, but the phpmyadmin install was able to complete after unmasking and
starting mysql.

[Bug 1955166] [NEW] Linphone shows chat icon with (1) overlaid, cannot view chat / annoying blinking systray icon

2021-12-17 Thread Reuben Firmin
Public bug reported:

Linphone has a systray icon which is blinking with a (1) overlay. It's
very annoying.

When I click on it, it brings up the linphone UI, which has a speech
bubble with a (1) on it. That's not immediately obvious, but it is
there. When I click on it, it just brings up the list of my SIP
accounts, but there's no obvious chat message to clear.
