2021-12-22 Thread Paul White
Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. If this bug report was translated into English as it
would be more understandable to triagers. Could you please translate it
and also assign the bug report to the correct package as there is no
'openoffice.org-amd64' package in any current release of Ubuntu.

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-
bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this
functionality at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs.

[Bug 1955611] Re: Unable to boot Live USB on Mac

2021-12-22 Thread Chris Guiver
Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

This package failure looks like it was caused by bad ISO download,
corrupted install media, or device failure, assuming /dev/sdb is your
installation media; the error "/dev/sdb: No medium found" is an ability
to recognize the media as valid. The question to attempt to download is
the solution offered in that circumstance.

Possibly useful : https://tutorials.ubuntu.com/tutorial/tutorial-how-to-
verify-ubuntu#0 though it sounds like that was not your issue (having
performed checks), but the writing of the ISO was not done correctly
(possibly with older software that couldn't cope with 20.04.3 media).

For Support, this bug report can be converted into a question, or you
can ask a question on https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu. You can also
find help with your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu
community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or
https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support options please look at
https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-support/709

As several different forums are discussing this issue,
I'm using this LP bug to continue investigation in to
current manifestation of this bug (after 4.15 kernel).

I suspect it's in one of the other places not fixed, as
my colleague Dan stated a while ago.

[Bug 1955613] [NEW] Add basic Wifi support for Qualcomm WCN6856

2021-12-22 Thread Kai-Heng Feng
Public bug reported:

[Impact]
Qualcomm WCN6856 doens't work.

[Fix]
Backport missing bits to make Wifi 5 work. Wifi 6 support is not in the
scope of this SRU.

[Test]
The system can connect to Wifi. Wifi still works after several rounds of
suspend/resume cycles.

[Where problems could occur]
The change is limited to ath11k, which is also the only user of mhi bus,
so the scope of risk is limited. Let alone it never worked before, so
there's not much room to go wrong.

[Bug 1955611] [NEW] Unable to boot Live USB on Mac

2021-12-22 Thread Scotty
Public bug reported:

Live USB boot reaches grub but fails some time after and fails to
completely boot on Macbook Pro 11,3 with Ubuntu 20.04.3

After selecting 'Ubuntu' or 'Ubuntu with safe graphics' the splash
screen shows, and after a while the screen is filled with lines of
`/init: line 49: can't open /dev/sdb: No medium found` with one line at
the bottom of `Unable to find a medium container a live file system.
Attempt interactive netboot from a URL?`

Booting with debug option from grub does not give keyboard access. I
have attached a photograph of the output at boot time to this ticket as
extracting logs from the system does not seem possible.

Full hardware specs of the exact model can be found here:
https://everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/specs/macbook-pro-
core-i7-2.5-15-dual-graphics-mid-2014-retina-display-specs.html

The iso file used is ubuntu-20.04.3-desktop-amd64.iso

The SHA256 of the downloaded iso file and MD5 sum of all files on the USB using
the included md5um.txt have been confirmed OK.
All USB ports on the machine, and multiple USB devices have been tested.
The Live USB install boots to Ubuntu desktop when run from within a virtual
machine under VMWare Player 16.

[Bug 1668474]

2021-12-22 Thread Operatingknowledge
Hi.

It seems that this problem is still present in 2.4.48.
Looking to mod_proxy.h, PROXY_WORKER_MAX_NAME_SIZE &
PROXY_BALANCER_MAX_NAME_SIZE are still set to 96 char long, causing some
"AH02808 Alert! worker name * too long; truncated to *" in our logs

Having a lot of Proxy conf, injected at runtime by other team,
stop/start logs are dumping hundreds of these warning lines, though and
as far as I can understand, do no arm to Apache runtime behavior.

It would be great if a "reasonnable" longer max length could be set
(256?)

BR

[Bug 1955602] [NEW] Mac系统在iterm2软件使用sz命令时出现\udc8a: command not found 的错误提示

Public bug reported:

## Mac系统在iterm2软件使用sz命令时出现\udc8a: command not found 的错误提示

[please describe the issue]

## Current and expected result

## Screenshot

这个是20.04.3 TLS版本系统使用sz命令下载文件到本地的错误提示截图

[Bug 1955594] Re: "Show Applications" does not permit scrolling through installed apps.

2021-12-22 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1955594/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 901353] Re: Brother QL-650TD only prints garbage

2021-12-22 Thread Cardella
Hello.

As this is a 32bits printer driver, you must do the following steps:

Download the actual drivers on Brother website.
Open the terminal and use the commands:

sudo apt remove printer-driver-ptouch

sudo apt-get install lib32z1

sudo dpkg -i --force-all ql650tdlpr-1.0.1-0.i386.deb

sudo dpkg -i --force-all ql650tdcupswrapper-1.0.1-0.i386.deb

You will be able to use the printer now.
PS: I tested on 3 devices with Ubuntu 20.04 and it worka perfect on all them.

[Bug 1955594] [NEW] "Show Applications" does not permit scrolling through installed apps.

2021-12-22 Thread Bob Reed
Public bug reported:

When I select "Show Applications" to view all installed apps in Gnome on Ubuntu
20.04.3 LTS, the window does not allow me to scroll through the installed
applications. After doing some testing, I discovered that this is related to
me having "Fractional Scaling" enabled with a setting of 125% in the display
settings. I am using a 4K display and use this setting to make windows and text
appear larger on the screen.
If I set the scaling to 100% or simply disable Fractional Scaling, I am able to
scroll through the list of installed apps normally. All other fractional
scaling settings (100%, 150%, 175% and 200%) work perfectly. Only 125% is
affected.
For reference, my display resolution is set to 3840x2180 @ 60Hz.
It is kind of late in the life of this release to do much about this, but I
thought I should pass this info along.

see https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/intel/-/issues/4530

does not happen with:
linux-oem-20.04c/focal-updates,now 5.13.0.1022.26

so I assume the problematic patch causing this issue was backported to

[Bug 1955589] [NEW] wireguard connectrion doesn't create route to server ip

2021-12-22 Thread Paweł Dembicki
Public bug reported:

lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 21.10
Release:21.10

Wireguard from network-manager deosn't create route to server ip. It's a
problem when "allowed ips" '0.0.0.0/0' are used.

Steps to reproduce:
Create wireguard connection with 0.0.0.0/0

Steps to workaround:
add route 'ip ro add via '

Example:

[Bug 1955588] [NEW] Panic or segfault in Samba

2021-12-22 Thread René Líma
Public bug reported:

The Samba 'panic action' script, /usr/share/samba/panic-action,
was called for PID 61029 (/usr/sbin/smbd).

This means there was a problem with the program, such as a segfault.
Below is a backtrace for this process generated with gdb, which shows
the state of the program at the time the error occurred. The Samba log
files may contain additional information about the problem.

If the problem persists, you are encouraged to first install the
samba-dbgsym package, which contains the debugging symbols for the Samba
binaries. Then submit the provided information as a bug report to
Ubuntu by visiting this link:

[Bug 1955587] [NEW] temporary freeze on login screen

2021-12-22 Thread Lubor Zelinka
Public bug reported:

On resume from sleep (suspend), 21.10 login screen from gdm3
41~rc-0ubuntu2 is displayed but the GUI freezes instantly for about
10-20 seconds. The WiFi indicator in top right corner is missing, when
it appears the GUI is again responsive and I can type password or do
anything else. This doesn't occur when on wired LAN (docked).

The system is Lenovo Yoga P40 laptop, WiFi is Intel 8260 dual
WiFi/Bluetooth card. Turning Bluetooth on or off has no effect on this
behavior, turning Wi-Fi off before suspending removes the problem.

As a newcomer, I am not sure what other information should I attach,
please let me know what additional info would be helpful.

[Bug 1955579] Re: Text disappears in GNOME Shell 3.36.9

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1955579/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

jack-mixer 17 has already been auto-sync'd from Debian into Jammy
Jellyfish (future 22.04), see https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/jack-
mixer. Backports to previous releases are not possible as previous
releases are feature-frozen.

[Bug 1955583] [NEW] Do-release-upgrade fails

2021-12-22 Thread Maxime Chambonnet
Public bug reported:

Hello,
I don't understand the problem.
I would think that packages that cannot be upgraded would be discarded and
listed somewhere.

I would be happy to supply more information on the issue.

[Bug 1955581] [NEW] Consider merge/synch from Debian

[Bug 1955579] [NEW] Text disappears in GNOME Shell 3.36.9

2021-12-22 Thread Davin
Public bug reported:

This bug occurs when staying in one of the voice channels on Discord for
prolonged periods of time.

I have also reported the bug in
[here](https://github.com/linuxmint/cinnamon/issues/3442#issuecomment-997984435)
and [here](https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/4889)

OS Information:
Linux Kernel version: 5.4.0-91-generic
Distribution release: Ubuntu 20.04
Distribution version: 20.04.3 LTS

DE Information:
GNOME version: 3
GNOME Shell version: 3.36.9

Display Server Information:
Display Server: X11
Display Server Version: X.Org 1.20.11

Display Manager Information:
Display Manager: gdm3

Processor Information:
Hardware: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-6100 CPU @3.70GHz
Cores: 2
Threads: 4

Video Card Information:
Hardware: NVIDIA Corporation: GM206 [GeForce GTX 950]
Driver: nvidia-driver-470 (proprietary, tested)

Here's one of the best ways to reproduce this issue:
1. Open Discord
2. Enter into any voice channel on Discord and just stay there for a day, it
may range from 30 minutes to 24 hours for it to occur.

Expected results:
The text shouldn't vanish from the desktop environment and it shouldn't cause
any graphical issues. Instead, if anything stops working, it should reload! And
the Settings app should open without crashing.

Actual results:
The text vanishes from the desktop environment and/or other graphical errors
occur, and the GNOME settings app crashes upon attempting to open.

Here's the screenshots (copied from Github):

[Bug 1939353] Re: FTBFS 3.5.6-1build1 with gcc-11

2021-12-22 Thread Scott Kitterman
Incorporation of this patch in postfix upstream is currently being
discussed on the postfix-users mailing list. The specific question
asked by Wietse is:

Has this been adopted, or do people on 3.5.* still have to tinker with
their /etc/resolv.conf files?

If anyone from Ubuntu could comment on that, it would be great.

[Bug 1878094] Re: Ubuntu 20.04 / Pulseaudio RTP receive broken sound

2021-12-22 Thread Dmitry Mikhailov
You can rebuild 13.99-1 RTP modules without GStreamer support as per
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pulseaudio/pulseaudio/-/issues/889

If you can't wait for fix you can grab prebuilt library binaries from
there although I'm against using unsigned untested 3rd-party binaries in
production. Works for me.

FIXED. If someone still encounter the calendar empty issue upon upgrade

best to further investigate, referencing this bug for info. Unless
anyone has objections and further useful feedback to help fix what ever

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

Bug reporting is mostly about finding & fixing problems thus preventing
future users from hitting the same bug.

I suspect a Support site would be more appropriate, eg.
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu. You can also find help with your
problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community
http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or
https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support options please look at
https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-support/709

(You've filed this bug against the documentation, but haven't provided
the page/link where the problem is. This is likely just filed against
the wrong package (ie. I note you're using GNOME so maybe your issue is
with the GNOME and not documentation about the Ubuntu/GNOME Desktop; but
I suspect you'd what you're after faster by seeking support)

[Bug 1912245] Re: Linux dependencies for juce-tools not included

2021-12-22 Thread IOhannes m zmoelnig
`juce-tools` is just some tools, like Projucer.
it doesn't depend on any dev-packages, because it doesn't need them. it does
however recommend the 'juce-modules-sources' package

otoh, the 'juce-modules-source' package (that provides the actual JUCE
modules), does depend on the dev-packages that are absolutely required
(among them libfreetype-dev).

it seems that you are not using the 'juce-modules-source' package (but
your copy of the headers), in which case it is your responsibility to
install the necessary dependencies.

[Bug 1955542] Re: Kubuntu OEM Installer crash when clicking next

2021-12-22 Thread Chris Guiver
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command only once, as it
will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:

apport-collect 1955542

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-
bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this
functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

If you cannot run this from the installed system, please boot the
installation media on the machine you installed on and run `apport-
collect` from there (that will provide release details as well as the
relevant hardware details). Please leave a comment if you do this, so
it's known how the details provided relate to your issue. Currently no
release details are known, nor what ISO was used to install, etc. so
it's difficult to evaluate the issue.

After running `apport-collect` the status can be returned to "New". If
you're unable to complete this; please leave a comment with details (and
the status can also be returned to "New").

However the modules on docker don't work until I run:

On the physical device after the .img has been flashed to it.

Which means it needs to flash something.
