[Bug 2055351] Re: firefox screen corruption on Athlon 200GE after fresh installation of 22.04.4
screenshot of firefox when launched under X11 ** Attachment added: "Firefox corruption.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/2055351/+attachment/5750559/+files/Firefox%20corruption.png ** Description changed: I downloaded the 22.04.4 iso and did a fresh install on an AMD Athlon 200GE using built-in graphics. (Radeon™ Vega 3 Graphics) Firefox and Chromium browsers had their windows corrupted to the point where they were unreadable. I think this is an xorg bug, because when I installed Wayland and logged in with a Wayland session, the browsers displayed correctly. Same behaviour with an Athlon 220GE. KDE or Ubuntu's Gnome desktop made no difference - it seemed to be xorg vs Wayland that was the critical difference. --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu82.5 Architecture: amd64 BootLog: Error: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/var/log/boot.log' CasperMD5CheckResult: unknown CompositorRunning: None CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: jammy DistroRelease: Ubuntu 22.04 DistroVariant: ubuntu ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes GraphicsCard: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [Bug 2055351] Re: firefox screen corruption on Athlon 200GE after fresh installation of 22.04.4
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Libera.chat. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2055351/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1949291] Re: LibreOffice has started displaying a donation nag
It seems like you're frustrated with the donation banners in LibreOffice and are looking for a way to disable them permanently, particularly in the context of Ubuntu 20.04. While I cannot directly implement changes in software, I can provide some guidance. Your approach of creating a configuration file in the $BASEDIR/share/registry directory seems to be one way to address the issue. However, it's worth noting that modifying system files could have unintended consequences, and it might not be the most user-friendly solution. Another potential solution is to use a third-party tool or script to automate the process of applying your configuration changes. This way, you can avoid manual intervention. If you find the banners intrusive and believe that they should be addressed at the distro level, you might want to consider reporting this as a bug or feature request to the Ubuntu bug tracking system. Provide detailed information about the issue and your proposed solution. This way, developers can evaluate the request and decide on the best course of action. Remember to check for updates regularly like https://sassastatusportal.co.za/, as software projects often release new versions that may include changes or improvements based on user feedback. You can also explore community forums or mailing lists related to Ubuntu or LibreOffice to see if others have found alternative solutions. Lastly, keep in mind that software distribution policies, including whether to include donation banners, may be influenced by the developers' decisions and the open-source nature of the software. It's a good practice to engage with the community and developers in a constructive manner to express your concerns and suggestions. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1949291 Title: LibreOffice has started displaying a donation nag To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/1949291/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 2055239] Re: Warning: The unit file, source configuration file or drop-ins of {apt-news, esm-cache}.service changed on disk. Run 'systemctl daemon-reload' to reload units.
It was puzzling indeed, but now I have a reproduction step. $ sudo apt update -> no warning $ sudo apt upgrade -> to install something to invoke the rsyslog trigger. Processing triggers for rsyslog (8.2312.0-3ubuntu3) ... Warning: The unit file, source configuration file or drop-ins of rsyslog.service changed on disk. Run 'systemctl daemon-reload' to reload units. $ sudo apt update -> will see the warning. The warning happens with every systemctl commands so it's not really ubuntu-pro-tools specific issue. However, systemctl warnings are not expected with `apt` commands usually so that's why this could be considered as a surprise. For fixing this properly, the place may not be in pro-tools itself but somewhere else. ** Attachment added: "apt-terminal.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-advantage-tools/+bug/2055239/+attachment/5750457/+files/apt-terminal.log ** Changed in: ubuntu-advantage-tools (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2055239 Title: Warning: The unit file, source configuration file or drop-ins of {apt- news,esm-cache}.service changed on disk. [Bug 2055351] [NEW] firefox screen corruption on Athlon 200GE after fresh installation of 22.04.4
Public bug reported: I downloaded the 22.04.4 iso and did a fresh install on an AMD Athlon 200GE using built-in graphics. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2055351 Title: firefox screen corruption on Athlon 200GE after fresh installation of 22.04.4 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2055351/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 2055126] Re: Unable to bring up a guest using 24.04(Noble Numbat) ISO
Thanks for providing further details on how to reproduce the issue. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to trigger the problem here. I'm using an LPAR, so it's a nested VM scenario (which is what gather you're also using, but please let me know otherwise), and I can't get the installation to finish because subiquity (our installer) crashes. This is certainly a problem, but it seem unrelated to QEMU/virt-install and not the same issue that you're experiencing. Are you using a baremetal machine perhaps? Also, allow me to reiterate what Frank said above. Our Ubuntu Cloud images are generated for KVM and recommended in this case. Having said that, could you please provide more details on the problem you're having. Are you able to access any logs at all? Do you see error/warning messages? I'm going to mark this bug as Incomplete for now in order to reflect the fact that we're waiting on more information.
