[Bug 1970069] Re: Annoying boot messages interfering with splash screen
That change is in plymouth, but hooks/framebuffer is in initramfs-tools. If you're suggesting moving the code from plymouth into initramfs-tools then I kind of understand, but it's not directly related to fixing this bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1970069 Title: Annoying boot messages interfering with splash screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/initramfs-tools/+bug/1970069/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1970069] Re: Annoying boot messages interfering with splash screen
If you are suggesting moving the logic from plymouth into initramfs- tools then please start by duplicating the code you'd like moved into initramfs-tools. That would be efficient since you have commit access to initramfs-tools, and would mean I only have to deal with plymouth here.

[Bug 2058310] [NEW] Dummy output with Celeron Silver audio

[Bug 2057484] Re: kernel worker event freezes during traffic on iwlwifi
I'm not sure the problem I'm having is exactly the same, but I also can't get any kernel after 6.5.0-21 to properly boot up on my laptop with an Intel wifi card. I'm attaching the portion of kern.log where a bunch of kernel worker tasks are reported as timed out; that happened, IIRC, after I tried to shut down the system by hitting the power button. The system wasn't really usable since most processes weren't able to start, so I couldn't really do a lot of investigation. Even trying to do "sudo blah" or just "ifconfig" would hang indefinitely. If it's any help, I have a bunch of options set for the Intel wifi driver: options iwlwifi power_save=0 options iwlmvm power_scheme=1 options iwldvm power_scheme=1 options lwlwifi bt_coex_active=enable ** Attachment added: "Kernel worker timeout reports from kern.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-signed-hwe-6.5/+bug/2057484/+attachment/5756935/+files/kern.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2057484 Title: kernel worker event freezes during traffic on iwlwifi To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-signed-hwe-6.5/+bug/2057484/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1828107] Re: gvfs can't list shares from smb servers that disabled SMB1
I can confirm that on latest LTS (22.04.4) this is still present. This is a major usability issue. I remember having this problem for many year now. Workaround is clear(killing gvfsd-smb-browse). Even a patch is released that although not solving the root cause shows that the problem is gvfs left in a bad state -- see post #45 (William Maddox (wmaddox3rd)) this issue us haunting me almost daily for 5years now. And is a core userexperience functionality of any user to be able to see shares on a local network. [Bug 2057937] Re: apt-news.service reporting errors after ubuntu-pro-client install
** Description changed: [ Impact ] src:ubuntu-advantage-tools version 31 introduced[1] an apparmor profile to the apt-news service. It's known that some ubuntu systems do not have apparmor enabled, and this was considered. The systemd.exec(5) manpage states that the AppArmorProfile setting has no effect if apparmor is disabled[2]. This was tested and verified. Turns out, however, that apparmor can be enabled on a system, but without the apparmor package installed. When this package is not installed, no profiles are loaded. Crucially, the ubuntu_pro_apt_news profile, used by apt-news.service, is not loaded. This situation is different than "apparmor is disabled", and systemd will try to launch apt-news confined by ubuntu_pro_apt_news. But since that profile is not loaded into the kernel, the service will fail. apt-news.service is called as an apt update hook, but its failure does not fail apt, since it's guarded[3] by "|| true", i.e., failures in the hook are ignored. The only impact is that apt news won't be fetched. [ Test Plan ] To reproduce the problem, launch an ubuntu lxd container, or a VM, and: # install ubuntu-advantage-tools 31 or later. It's in updates right now, so just make sure the system is updated: sudo apt update && sudo apt install ubuntu-advantage-tools -y # verify it's version 31 or higher: $ dpkg -l ubuntu-advantage-tools | grep ubuntu-advantage-tools ii ubuntu-advantage-tools 31.2~22.04 all transitional dummy package for ubuntu-pro-client - # remove (not purge) apparmor: sudo apt remove apparmor -y # reboot sudo reboot # start apt-news.service, and verify it fails: $ sudo systemctl start apt-news.service Job for apt-news.service failed because the control process exited with error code.
