telepathy-idle (irc), telepathy-sofiasip, telepathy-butterfly (MSN).
telepathy-gabble should do the job just fine for what I need, as far as

while searching, the backspace key enters ^?. ctrl-h works as backspace
should. The cursor is moved to the proper location, but the string ^? is

Actually it sounds like this might be a different problem since it
didn't work for me on edgy either. And bug #83313 is with a different
chipset (intel instead of SiI). Hopefully it'll be fixed with the same
kernel fix though. Fingers crossed.

somewhere in there, and the lspci was taken with the laptop undocked.

I know it's a state. Most packages use that to indicate that the bug
reporter should provide more information, not that the packagers need to

I guess it depends on what is meant by a "text shift". The text does
move around, but it's a lot more than the 1 pixel or so described in the
linked bug. It's enough to be a problem: clicks can easily miss the
