k3b locks the computer when trying to write an iso image to cd-r , it happens
just after it determines the write speed. Ive tried three times each time with
the same result. Tried setting the write
Have Ubuntu 8.10 installed - does not recognize the existence of a CF
card (or SD card for that matter) in the pccard slot on a Thinkpad T60p.
This is my primary way of transferring data so this is a big problem.
Hardware works fine under Windows XP on the same machine.

Just chirping in here to say confirm the same issue on D945GCLF2D mobo running
Debian. It seems to have started after the 2.6.30 kernel. If I boot into
2.6.30 kernel, I get sound and no hda-intel: spurious response messages. If
I boot into 2.6.32, I get tons of the spurious response
Does the change in importance to Medium mean that this regression bug
will not be fixed? This is a very very annoying bug for people that
have come to rely upon this functionality working correct.

My Dell had Insyde Software BIOS instead of normal Dell AMI based BIOS

I can try that, however, every time it has locked up in the past, it is
100% unresponsive. I have run extensive hardware diagnostics and nothing
is wrong. I ran Windows just to test things and no lockups. So it's for
sure something not 100% compatible with Linux.

Currently, I am using 545 proprietary. So far I have 18:48 of uptime. I
am going to continue to run to see if it crashes before deleting

Current Edgy, PPC (32Bit Apple iBook G3)
I've discovered after some futzing that if I disable a gstreamer
plugin via:
sudo chmod a-r /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstlibvisual.so
That it works around the problem. Possibly this means that this
gstreamer plugin is causing it to

After installing the gstreamer update I can chmod libgstlibvisual.so
back to 644 and gst-inspect / gnome-settings-daemon no longer crash
