[Bug 934197] [NEW] Send to... should show progress bar

2012-02-17 Thread Amr Ibrahim
Public bug reported:

When I use Send to... to copy files to external storage devices, I
expect a progress bar to show up, but it doesn't. A progress bar should
show to notify the user of the process specially for very large files
which take much time to copy.

[Bug 873773] Re: Adobe flash provided by canonical partner repositories is not 64 bit in the Software centre

2012-03-09 Thread Amr Ibrahim
If you search for Adobe Flash in Synaptic, you'll find a different
story. There are three different packages, two provided through Ubuntu
multiverse (32bit) and one through Canonical Partners (64bit). That's
very confusing.

People are giving very bad reviews on Adobe Flash installed from the
Software Centre because they're actually installing the 32bit version on
their 64bit Ubuntu. The 64bit version is working very good on my 64bit
Oneiric.

[Bug 913308] [NEW] Package version very old/outdated

2012-01-07 Thread Amr Ibrahim
Public bug reported:

The package version from the Ubuntu repository is very old/outdated than the
upstream one. The package version uploaded in Oneiric and Precise is 2.2.5,
which was released on 16-05-2009!
http://mp3splt.sourceforge.net/mp3splt_page/news.php
That version has been the same since Lucid! The same applies to mp3splt-gtk.
More updated versions should be uploaded into Ubuntu.

** Affects: mp3splt (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 913725] Re: Changes in Configure Kid3... are NOT saved

2012-01-09 Thread Amr Ibrahim
(1) Yes, Kid3.conf exists.
(2) Yes, it is changed when Kid3 is correctly terminated.
(3) No, Kid3 is NOT killed.
But here's the thing, when Kid3 is re-opened, the changes in Kid3-qt and
Kid3.conf are reverted.
I'll upload these files:
(a) Kid3.conf: default
(b) Kid3_2.conf: after Kid3 is correctly terminated with some changes have been
made in Context Menu Commands
(c) Kid3_3.conf: after Kid3 is re-opened then terminated without any changes
(d) strace.txt: for case (b)
(e) strace_2.txt: for case (c)

2012-01-10 Thread Amr Ibrahim
Yes, you're absolutely right. I deleted all the entries to the last one,
and I did what you said, I kept at least one non-empty entry and the
configurations were saved.

Thanks so much for your support. That problem was making me crazy since
Natty 11.04 :D

I think the bug does not exist now (exists only for people who don't
know about the deleting all entries thing) :D

[Bug 908646] Re: Segmentation fault when converting from 6 to 2 channels

2011-12-26 Thread Amr Ibrahim
I have two problems:
1. How can I get that stacktrace?
2. The input file is 2.5 GB, so I can't attach it directly. I can attach the
torrent file (A.torrent) which contains the 6ch video named The Twilight Saga
Eclipse.mp4.

[Bug 1018811] [NEW] Frames should be only checked or selected; not both

2012-06-28 Thread Amr Ibrahim
Public bug reported:

Frames can be checked (checkbox) and selected (highlight) at the same
time, and this is somehow confusing and inconsistent. There should be
only one way to choose frames; either checked or selected.

Typical case:
An mp3 file with many unwanted tag fields. I have to select each frame at a
time to delete it, and this can be sometimes irritating.
Suggested solution:
Unwanted frames can all be checked at the same time and deleted once.

I got confused between Remove and Delete. But why are there two deleting
commands? It seems that they both do the same thing.

[Bug 1044960] [NEW] Windows titles close buttons should appear when windows are zoomed out

2012-09-02 Thread Amr Ibrahim
Public bug reported:

When windows are zoomed out by any means (e.g. pressing Super + W or
same application launcher icon), the titles of windows and close buttons
should appear for each one of them. They can appear only when the mouse
cursor moves above them or appear all the time, but they should show up
anyway. It's nearly impossible to recognize which window to select
especially if they are from the same application and there are too many
different windows open.

I strongly back up to close with a middle-click as a default. All web
browsers implement this. It is not our problem that other applications
are lagging behind. Not to mention that in Nautilus, with a
middle-click, you can open a new tab, but you can't close it with the
same click!!! in contrast with all web browsers.

[Bug 1070302] [NEW] [regression] Dash loses interaction with keyboard

2012-10-23 Thread Amr Ibrahim
Public bug reported:

In Ubuntu 12.10, sometimes when typing in Dash to search for an
application, the interaction with the keyboard is suddenly lost.

A case to reproduce:

1. Open Dash
2. Type to search for an application that was not recently used (not shown
amoung the 6 recent applications)
3. Press the down-key
4. Press escape to return
4. The Dash-keyboard interaction is lost. Pressing any key doesn't do anything,
even escape doesn't close the Dash. Only the super-key closes the Dash.

This is a regression from Ubuntu 12.04.

[Bug 1069113] Re: Dropbox indicator not showing correct status

2012-11-02 Thread Amr Ibrahim
Make sure you did a gksudo dropbox update. This update option is
provided only for the package nautilus-dropbox downloaded from the
Ubuntu Software Center. If you downloaded the package directly from
dropbox.com, it would update automatically, you don't have to do
anything.

[Bug 1069113] Re: Dropbox indicator not showing correct status

2012-10-29 Thread Amr Ibrahim
Auto-update is disabled in the ubuntu downstream package which is just a
wrapper (script to download the dropbox client from upstream). You'll
have to do gksudo dropbox update in a terminal or Alt+F2 to get the
latest release. I did it and it is working very well.

[Bug 1049964] Re: [regression] Tray region of the panel is not redrawn when notify-osd is on top

2012-10-29 Thread Amr Ibrahim
A workaround to solve this is to disable the Effects plugins in
CompizConfig Settings Manager.

After I disabled both 'Animations' and 'Fading Windows' to gain a
performance boost, I noticed that the graphical glitches above the sound
bubble disappeared. Don't disable 'Window Decoration' or you'll lose the
outside frame and the minimize, maximize close buttons.

Actually I hit two birds with one stone; got rid of the glitches and
gained a performance boost :D
