yes, I used to have the nvidia drivers installed using the nvidia installer.
But I did an uninstall before I upgraded my ubuntu to 10.04. And the nvidia
drivers from the installer were some 190 version, not the 185.

well, as for me, i don't see any stability problems after the bug
appears. i have an asus ul50ag, it has both, an atheros wifi card but
also the intel soundchip.

this "update" makes the calculator useless, since converting between
bases quickly was the only thing I used it for. I cannot find a single
good reason why the different base buttons could not be left as they
were.

I've downloaded the latest cd image from the link above and did a clean
install. I did not face the problem anymore, so it seems to be fixed.

I can confirm Torsten's observation. John's suggestion (#16) works, but
player is'nt recognized anymore after reconnecting.

I still have this problem with ubuntu 10.04, and vlc 1.0.6-1ubuntu1.1.
If I copy the files from the hfsplus partition onto a ext4 / ext3 partition,
vlc will play them. Therefore I don't see this bug as being fixed yet.
