So, I'm a bit confused with the upstream discussion that happened around
this bug and some proposed patches.
It seems that CAs self-signed with RSA-MD2 are bad and not supported,
or something like that. I checked Ian's certificate chain and the last
CA in the chain uses RSA-MD5 from what I could

The wiki doc is not yet approved, but I moved on with the tests to gain

All but the distro upgrade tests have been performed. The distro upgrade

that process. Once they are done, I'll write more details here.

Scott, is your main issue about Landscape being proprietary? Because
there are precedents for advertising in other programs shipped with
ubuntu, such as rrdtool/mrtg for example. It's the author advertising
his site/project/work. In the landscape case, it's also the author of
the program
As per discussion that happened elsewhere, I'm writing in the ubuntu
wiki (i.e., a public place) a proposal for rules for Landscape client
packages upgrades. Once it's ready for review, I'll publish the URL here
(it's not hidden and the url is easy to guess, I just don't want it to
be reviewed

I noticed recently that landscape-client could no longer contact our
staging server. Fortunately, contacting the production server is still
ok.
This command is an easy way to reproduce the problem. It is failing
against staging.landscape.canonical.com:
gnutls-cli -V
It turns out that debian/patches/91_CVE-2008-4989.diff is missing an add
chunk. Compare it with the gnutls advisory at
http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.encryption.gpg.gnutls.devel/3215
I rebuilt it locally with that missing chunk added to the patch and then
it started to work.
