[Bug 1779777] Re: Wifi Broadcom Limited BCM43142 dont working 4.15.0-24
I'm having the same problem with my Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11bgn Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01) Everything was fine, but after reboot, I had no wifi connections available. The wifi controller was present in lspci output, but not in ifconfig output. Hitting hardware buttons had no effect. After booting into 4.13.0-45-generic kernel, everything returned to normal: wifi works as earlier. I'm posting 'apport-bug linux --save' data here. It was collected when booted into 4.15.0-24 kernel. === apport-bug data === ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.18 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: GNOME-Flashback:Unity Date: Sun Jul 8 01:42:38 2018 Dependencies: adduser 3.113+nmu3ubuntu4 apt 1.2.26 apt-utils 1.2.26 busybox-initramfs 1:1.22.0-15ubuntu1 coreutils 8.25-2ubuntu3~16.04 cpio 2.11+dfsg-5ubuntu1 debconf 1.5.58ubuntu1 debconf-i18n 1.5.58ubuntu1 debianutils 4.7 dpkg 1.18.4ubuntu1.4 e2fslibs 1.42.13-1ubuntu1 e2fsprogs 1.42.13-1ubuntu1 gcc-5-base 5.4.0-6ubuntu1~16.04.10 gcc-6-base 6.0.1-0ubuntu1 gnupg 1.4.20-1ubuntu3.2 gpgv 1.4.20-1ubuntu3.2 init-system-helpers 1.29ubuntu4 initramfs-tools 0.122ubuntu8.11 initramfs-tools-bin 0.122ubuntu8.11 initramfs-tools-core 0.122ubuntu8.11 initscripts 2.88dsf-59.3ubuntu2 insserv 1.14.0-5ubuntu3 klibc-utils 2.0.4-8ubuntu1.16.04.4 kmod 22-1ubuntu5 libacl1 2.2.52-3 libapt-inst2.0 1.2.26 libapt-pkg5.0 1.2.26 libattr1 1:2.4.47-2 libaudit-common 1:2.4.5-1ubuntu2.1 libaudit1 1:2.4.5-1ubuntu2.1 libblkid1 2.27.1-6ubuntu3.4 libbz2-1.0 1.0.6-8 libc6 2.23-0ubuntu10 libcomerr2 1.42.13-1ubuntu1 libdb5.3 5.3.28-11ubuntu0.1 libfdisk1 2.27.1-6ubuntu3.4 libgcc1 1:6.0.1-0ubuntu1 libgcrypt20 1.6.5-2ubuntu0.5 libgpg-error0 1.21-2ubuntu1 libgpm2 1.20.4-6.1 libklibc 2.0.4-8ubuntu1.16.04.4 libkmod2 22-1ubuntu5 liblocale-gettext-perl 1.07-1build1 liblz4-1 0.0~r131-2ubuntu2 liblzma5 5.1.1alpha+20120614-2ubuntu2 libmount1 2.27.1-6ubuntu3.4 libncurses5 6.0+20160213-1ubuntu1 libncursesw5 6.0+20160213-1ubuntu1 libpam-modules 1.1.8-3.2ubuntu2.1 libpam-modules-bin 1.1.8-3.2ubuntu2.1 libpam0g 1.1.8-3.2ubuntu2.1 libpcre3 2:8.41-4+ubuntu16.04.1+deb.sury.org+1 [origin: LP-PPA-ondrej-php] libprocps4 2:3.3.10-4ubuntu2.4 libreadline6 6.3-8ubuntu2 libselinux1 2.4-3build2 libsemanage-common 2.3-1build3 libsemanage1 2.3-1build3 libsepol1 2.4-2 libsmartcols1 2.27.1-6ubuntu3.4 libss2 1.42.13-1ubuntu1 libstdc++6 5.4.0-6ubuntu1~16.04.10 libsystemd0 229-4ubuntu21.2 libtext-charwidth-perl 0.04-7build5 libtext-iconv-perl 1.7-5build4 libtext-wrapi18n-perl 0.06-7.1 libtinfo5 6.0+20160213-1ubuntu1 libudev1 229-4ubuntu21.2 libusb-0.1-4 2:0.1.12-28 libustr-1.0-1 1.0.4-5 libuuid1 2.27.1-6ubuntu3.4 linux-base 4.5ubuntu1~16.04.1 linux-modules-4.15.0-24-generic 4.15.0-24.26~16.04.1 lsb-base 9.20160110ubuntu0.2 mount 2.27.1-6ubuntu3.4 multiarch-support 2.23-0ubuntu10 passwd 1:4.2-3.1ubuntu5.3 perl-base 5.22.1-9ubuntu0.5 procps 2:3.3.10-4ubuntu2.4 psmisc 22.21-2.1build1 readline-common 6.3-8ubuntu2 sensible-utils 0.0.9ubuntu0.16.04.1 sysv-rc 2.88dsf-59.3ubuntu2 sysvinit-utils 2.88dsf-59.3ubuntu2 tar 1.28-2.1ubuntu0.1 ubuntu-keyring 2012.05.19 udev 229-4ubuntu21.2 util-linux 2.27.1-6ubuntu3.4 uuid-runtime 2.27.1-6ubuntu3.4 zlib1g 1:1.2.8.dfsg-2ubuntu4.1 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 InstallationDate: Installed on 2017-05-04 (429 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Release amd64 (20170215.2) Package: linux-image-4.15.0-24-generic 4.15.0-24.26~16.04.1 PackageArchitecture: amd64 ProcCpuinfoMinimal: processor : 1 vendor_id : GenuineIntel cpu family : 6 model : 58 model name : Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU 2020M @ 2.40GHz stepping : 9 microcode : 0x1f cpu MHz: 2108.491 cache size : 2048 KB physical id: 0 siblings : 2 core id: 1 cpu cores : 2 apicid : 2 initial apicid : 2 fpu: yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level: 13 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss ht tm pbe syscall nx rdtscp lm constant_tsc arch_perfmon pebs bts rep_good nopl xtopology nonstop_tsc cpuid aperfmperf pni pclmulqdq dtes64 monitor ds_cpl vmx est tm2 ssse3 cx16 xtpr pdcm pcid sse4_1 sse4_2 x2apic popcnt tsc_deadline_timer xsave lahf_lm cpuid_fault epb pti ibrs ibpb stibp tpr_shadow vnmi flexpriority ept vpid fsgsbase smep erms xsaveopt dtherm arat pln pts bugs : cpu_meltdown spectre_v1 spectre_v2 spec_store_bypass bogomips : 4789.20 clflush size : 64 cache_alignment: 64 address sizes : 36 bits physical, 48 bits virtual power management: ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=ru:en LC_TIME=ru_RU.UTF-8 LD_LIBRARY_PATH= LC_MONETARY=ru_RU.UTF-8 TERM=xterm-256color PATH=(custom, no user) LC_ADDRESS=ru_RU.UTF-8 XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= LC_TELEPHONE=ru_RU.UTF-8
[Bug 731559] Re: Window content disappears leaving just a white area after enlarging window
To reproduce the problem * open several (5-10) windows. Windows must not be minimised. * resize active window or open extra windows. I have Natty installed on my atom based netbook. I didn't have the same problem with it. My guess is that the problem could be triggered by NVidia driver. ** Attachment added: Screenshot https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/731559/+attachment/1960183/+files/Screenshot-1.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/731559 Title: Window content disappears leaving just a white area after enlarging window -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 731559] [NEW] Window content disappears leaving just a white area after enlarging window
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz I have upgraded from Maverick to Natty recently. I found that in some cases window content disappears leaving just a white area after enlarging window. Resizing window back returns normal content. This can appear on any window regardless of the application. I've observed this both running Unity and Classic Gnome DE. The problem tends to appear when there are more displayed windows. xwininfo output for window displayed normally: xwininfo: Please select the window about which you would like information by clicking the mouse in that window. xwininfo: Window id: 0x5800210 RapidSVN Absolute upper-left X: 307 Absolute upper-left Y: 192 Relative upper-left X: 0 Relative upper-left Y: 0 Width: 1045 Height: 516 Depth: 24 Visual: 0x21 Visual Class: TrueColor Border width: 0 Class: InputOutput Colormap: 0x20 (installed) Bit Gravity State: NorthWestGravity Window Gravity State: NorthWestGravity Backing Store State: NotUseful Save Under State: no Map State: IsViewable Override Redirect State: no Corners: +307+192 -328+192 -328-342 +307-342 -geometry 1045x516+299+163 and corrupted one: xwininfo: Please select the window about which you would like information by clicking the mouse in that window. xwininfo: Window id: 0x5800210 RapidSVN Absolute upper-left X: 307 Absolute upper-left Y: 192 Relative upper-left X: 0 Relative upper-left Y: 0 Width: 1248 Height: 710 Depth: 24 Visual: 0x21 Visual Class: TrueColor Border width: 0 Class: InputOutput Colormap: 0x20 (installed) Bit Gravity State: NorthWestGravity Window Gravity State: NorthWestGravity Backing Store State: NotUseful Save Under State: no Map State: IsViewable Override Redirect State: no Corners: +307+192 -125+192 -125-148 +307-148 -geometry 1248x710+299+163 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: compiz-core 1:0.9.4-0ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-5.32-generic 2.6.38-rc6 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-5-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia .proc.driver.nvidia.gpus.0: Error: [Errno 21] Is a directory: '/proc/driver/nvidia/gpus/0' .proc.driver.nvidia.registry: Binary: .proc.driver.nvidia.version: NVRM version: NVIDIA UNIX x86_64 Kernel Module 270.29 Wed Feb 23 16:18:35 PST 2011 GCC version: gcc version 4.5.2 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.5.2-3ubuntu3) Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: compiz Date: Tue Mar 8 22:53:51 2011 DistUpgraded: Log time: 2011-03-05 00:38:02.999160 DistroCodename: natty DistroVariant: ubuntu DkmsStatus: virtualbox-ose, 4.0.4, 2.6.38-5-generic, x86_64: installed nvidia-current, 270.29, 2.6.38-5-generic, x86_64: installed ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/compiz GraphicsCard: nVidia Corporation C51PV [GeForce 6150] [10de:0240] (rev a2) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
