I also run into this annoying bug. In my case, I can not comment out my
manual entries in /etc/network/interfaces because I need those for
proper NAT support in VirtualBox (vbox0 interface bridging).
The only way to bring the applet back to life I've found is:
/etc/init.d/Network-Manager restart
There's a brainstorm idea that requests exactly this.
I also like scroll view - specially for browsing music collections. But
without the ability to scroll with the mouse wheel, its usability is
rather poor.

The driver included in Karmic (after all updates) is 1.8.0.1 which is
very old and very buggy. It won't connect in Wireless N mode in 5Ghz for
more than an hour, even with no encryption at all. WPA2 works randomly,
maybe once every 10 reboots. The driver also foolds the system log with

Robin: wmp600n does work out of the box... but only for an hour or so,
even when in wireless G mode with no encryption, it's quite pathetic.
Connections drop and the system message log gets flooded with messages
from the buggy driver.
Turns out that Karmic's version of the ralink driver is very

Oops, sorry, I forgot to mention the sound problem.
Yes I don't have sound too, except when the computer boots and start loading
Linux.
The keyboard is unresponsive (I had to use virtual keyboard and character map
to type anything one.by.one. using my mouse).

and can't find any reference to calls to common_session_noninteractive
nor to pam_mount.

Thanks everyone for the comments
As a temporary workaround I commented-out the pam_mount call in
/etc/pam.d/common_session_noninteractive
No apparent breakage, nothing of interest in the logs other than that I
see in that cron still runs hourly, but now it leaves my mounted
partitions alone :)
In a shared family computer where the PC automatically logins a random user,
this feature in empathy is useless, and actually puts your passwords at
risks. It is quite curious that empathy does not allow configuring accounts in
such a way that it asks for the password everytime it connects, if
flocci: I also use pam mount to automount luks. I see the annoying
use_first_pass message but at least automount works fine in my case.
Still unsure if it is safe to remove the option from /etc/pam.d/common-
pammount

If it didn't make sense, then why does nautilus offer Open With with
folders? I still can (and do) open folders with audacious, banshee or
showfoto.
Something is wrong with the assumption that it didn't make sense.
I opened a bug with gnome bugzilla:
correct - changing the default doesn't make sense, but having the tab
does: nautilus lets you add entries in the open with context menu but
offers no way to remove them. That is what I described in gnome
bugzilla's bug.

NSPlugin Viewer ERROR: libnss3.so
I've got installed flashplugin-nonfree from https://launchpad.net/~fta/+archive
If you wanna using flash 10 rc2, do this steps:
sudo su
cp /usr/lib/libssl3.so.1d /usr/lib/libssl3.so
cp /usr/lib/libnss3.so.1d /usr/lib/libnss3.so
cp /usr/lib/libsmime3.so.1d /usr/lib/libsmime3.so
exit
Try do it.

So do I lost passwords in Firefox long time ago, but I did reinstall
(purge) firefox and removing ~/.mozilla (earlier save bookmarks.html)
and abrowser works fine with passwords.
