From the comments from testers so far, sounds like the performance is

regression-free, and since it's closed source we have no mechanism for
us to fix the regressions from our side. Thus, I'm closing this as

The original bug was against -nv, so recent reports with SiS graphics
are probably seeing another issue. I agree with Sitsofe that SiS users
should spin off their own bug.

Would you mind testing this patch to see if it fixes it?
(Possibly this would stop it from crashing here, but still result in a
