Right - we don't actually recommend the use of automatix and we can't
help with gnash crashes as we don't supply it in any of the
repositories.
Gnash is alpha software and should be expected to be unstable. It's not
really suitable for total beginners.
If you want help with removing it post a

I've created a patch correcting the English in the original C++ - it's
not a localisation issue - it's in the original code. I've corrected all
errors I could find - more than in this bug report.
I don't know how the pot file is created as that contains the old text
and I haven't touched.

Tried with a clean install of Kubuntu 6.10 rc. No joy.

when it stops.
I don't think this is the spec of the machine as it is considerably over

I have the same issue using the alternate cd. I wasn't asked for a
timezone but was asked for my keyboard layout.
Keyboard was set to US English, money to $, paper to A4 and units to
metric.
Time zone was set to Europe/Guernsey!
