Happens for the first time for me with a desktop cd edgy 6.10 final in an old
p3 machine.
The first boot was ok, then install crashed like the first post.
From the second boot only without queit and splash parameters boots ok,
then ubiquity crashed in the same way.

guys, it would help way more if you could test the packages in
-proposed rather than tasadar_f's packages. This way we can decide if
they go to -updates or not
the problem is that there are NO wxwidgets packages that reached edgy-
proposed yet, so there is nothing to test over there!

amule 2.1.3 is not compatible with wxwidgets 2.8, those packages aren't
in feisty yet, but this patch works also with 2.6 so can be nice to add
it in the future will not to have a long time wait to integrate it, I
mean after feisty frozen period.

I think this bug is underevaluted.
these are good steps to follow:
1) set to CRITICAL not HIGH
2) put SYNC for all devices in kubuntu-default-settings NOW (was to be done 3
months ago)
3) code a better solution
4) test it
5) then upload to edgy-updates the solution and delete SYNC again.

yes but a new script (not in a package) should be installed only via
console... why linux is still so restricted to let GUI have the same
power of the console or at least something similar???
Linux will never have a great diffusion whithout console-dependent that it's
still is.
