[Bug 1825755] Re: apt-mirror in all versions (including disco and last from github) doesn't mirror Commands-* files

[Bug 2068572] [NEW] Inoperable NetworkMonitor for non-standard configuration
Public bug reported: There is an issue with the API of Gio NetworkMonitor - it is only possible to get the "default" with g_network_monitor_get_default. Which one is the default is based on hardcoded "priorities" which by default are set to e.g. 30 for NetworkManager, 20 for netlink. This means that in a scenario when e.g. NetworkManager is running, but not used for network management (for instance networkd is used for that purpose) Gio API will return a useless NetworkMonitor without any available function to get the next one in the list (with lower priority). I believe it would make sense to extend the API to get next NetworkMonitor if the first one is inoperable. There are some cloud use cases where the NetworkManager is installed as a dependency of the ubuntu-desktop metapackage, but the administrator has chosen to use networkd instead. ** Affects: glib2.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2068572 Title: Inoperable NetworkMonitor for non-standard configuration To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glib2.0/+bug/2068572/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1843588 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1843588 Thank you Mathew. I assumed it's the same package in later releases. The reason behind splitting the bug was the fact that I believe these are 2 separate problems by coincidence having their root causes in similar portions of code. Bug #1843588 is focal specific and is about altered contents of clipboard and fixing it requires fixing reverting the change in nautilus. This one on the other hand is about not being able to copy from the desktop to nautilus and vice versa. [Bug 1948008] [NEW] Copying and pasting to/from Nautilus does not work
Public bug reported: [Impact] * After upstream Nautilus has reverted the following commit [1] related to upstream bug [2] the desktop icons extension lost it's ability to copy to/from nautilus. * This is related to the fact that before there was some metadata passed along in the clipboard along with text data. This was causing issues with compatibility with some applications that were not expecting any metadata (MIME type in this case) was glued to the text clipboard contents. Hence, it was reverted upstream [3]. * Fixing the root cause of this issue required changes to Nautilus [3], gnome-shell [4] and desktop-icons [5] [6]. Nautilus and gnome-shell parts are already implemented and present in Hirsute and Impish. [Test Plan] 1) Make sure desktop-icons extension is enabled. 2) Open nautilus window and copy any file from there by right-clicking and selecting "Copy" from the popup menu. 3) Right-click on desktop and select "Paste" from the context menu. Expected result: selected file is copied to the desktop. Actual result: "Paste" item is disabled in the menu. [Where problems could occur] * Mixing a version of nautilus without commit [3] and fixed version of desktop-icons may still lead to a scenario when copying will not work. * Any extension/application copying to desktop using the smuggled-in- text clipboard behavior should be expected to stop working. [Bug 1921658] Re: Can't compose kvm host with lvm storage on maas 2.8.4
@seyeongkim hi, I'm working on sponsoring your patch right now. I had to do some minor fixes in it: 1. Since we're adding delta in relation to Debian we should change version number to reflect that (e.g. 7.0-4ubuntu1). 2. The launchpad bug number has to follow the convention for the automation to correctly pick it up and close the bug automatically afterwards (i.e. LP: #1921658 and not "Closes: #1921658). 3. The patch header did not need the "+" signs in the beginning of the line. 4. There was a descriptive commit for one of the lines you backported (static int *local_prompt_newlines;) which you skipped. I think it should also be part of the backport as it explains why the variable is there in the first place. I'll update this bug if needed. Those + seem to be previously defined by macros (resolved in the end to + QB_LOG_INIT_DATA) and used internally by libqb for logging purposes. If + there was anything using those symbols build time or runtime missing + symbols may be reported. [scope] this appears to be needed only for focal; the issue seems to be an interaction between the focal version of binutils and some linker "magic" that libqb used in the focal version. The upstream libqb removed/replaced that linker "magic" after the version in focal, so this should not affect groovy or later. However, the fix changes the ABI and thus isn't appropriate for SRUing. https://github.com/ClusterLabs/libqb/pull/322 The libqb code in bionic does not include the linker "magic" and so does not have this problem. [other info] related debian binutils bug report: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=923246 related gcc bug report: https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=24276 however, those appear to only have changed binutils to ignore the issue to allow the build to stop failing. The libqb docs do contain two suggestions to possibly work around this bug, specifically using either -l:libqb.so.0 or -DQB_KILL_ATTRIBUTE_SECTION, or both. Either or both approaches do help with the simple test case, but more testing is needed that actually exercises the log functionality to make sure nothing else breaks. $ gcc -flto -D_GNU_SOURCE -o test test.c -lqb -ldl /usr/bin/ld: warning: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/9/../../../x86_64-linux-gnu/libqb.so contains output sections; did you forget -T? $ ./test test: test.c:4: test: Assertion `"implicit callsite section is observable, otherwise target's and/or libqb's build is at fault, preventing reliable logging" && work_s1 != NULL && work_s2 != NULL' failed. This prevents the lock manager from releasing any held locks on the failed node. At this point the gfs2 filesystem cannot be accessed and after any resource timeouts are met, the resource is marked as failed. [Bug 1915828] Re: pacemaker fails to release clustered filesystem dlm locks on failover
The list of symbols missing seem to be consistent with the onces defined with the CRM_TRACE_INIT_DATA macro: lib/lrmd/lrmd_client.c 46:CRM_TRACE_INIT_DATA(lrmd); lib/pacemaker/pcmk_trans_unpack.c 20:CRM_TRACE_INIT_DATA(transitioner); lib/fencing/st_client.c 37:CRM_TRACE_INIT_DATA(stonith); lib/pacemaker/pcmk_sched_allocate.c 24:CRM_TRACE_INIT_DATA(pe_allocate); lib/cluster/cluster.c 25:CRM_TRACE_INIT_DATA(cluster); lib/common/utils.c 57:CRM_TRACE_INIT_DATA(common); lib/pengine/unpack.c 28:CRM_TRACE_INIT_DATA(pe_status); lib/pengine/rules.c 25:CRM_TRACE_INIT_DATA(pe_rules); The macro itself is defined in the following way: include/crm/common/logging.h 112: #define CRM_TRACE_INIT_DATA(name) QB_LOG_INIT_DATA(name) On the other hand QB_LOG_INIT_DATA is defined in libqb as follows: #if defined(QB_KILL_ATTRIBUTE_SECTION) || defined(S_SPLINT_S) #undef QB_HAVE_ATTRIBUTE_SECTION #endif /* defined(QB_KILL_ATTRIBUTE_SECTION) || defined(S_SPLINT_S) */ #ifdef QB_HAVE_ATTRIBUTE_SECTION // ... #else #define QB_LOG_INIT_DATA(name) #endif /* QB_HAVE_ATTRIBUTE_SECTION */ So in the end with the QB_KILL_ATTRIBUTE_SECTION defined the macro QB_LOG_INIT_DATA is being left empty.
