dialog appeared. See screenshot (the text can not be selected for pasting).
I boot the live enviromnent on another PC, this time 32 bit version and it c
Funny, after copying the mentioned DVD on the 32 bit system, I tried
another DVD on it and now it brings up the same complaint.
I forgot before to attach the screenshot. Here is the one from the 32

Is there some diagnostic utility that can tell if a DVD is copy protected ?

Funny.
I just burned an iso file to a DVD+RW and here it is the opposite:
- duringg burn, the speed is reported as a multiple of DVD ( KiB/s 4.1x)
- when finished, it uses CD units : 5544 KiB/s (32.2x)
The iso file was karmic-desktop-i386.iso (alpha2).
The DVD medium was a FUJIFILM 4x DVD+R

Here I did the same, but started with a DVD video on the media and
overwrote it with Windows 7 CD.
Opening the media in nautilus results in correct content displayed,
except the label. It showed the label of the previous content (movie).

It appears as if part of the system thinks the screen is only 1680x1050
big.
Here is for example the ouput of synergy client:

I also tried opening Places / Computer and the right clicking the DVD
icon (also labeled "UDF Volume") and selecting Mount Volume. It is the
same: the DVD spins up, then the above error dialog appears.
So the "Eject after burning" option does not have any real use, as one
must eject the medium any
Another not: I opened the brasero burn dialog again, and saw that the free
space indication is wrong. It says 4.4GB free, but that can not be true. The
inserted DVD has the image of the karmic-desktop-i386.iso on it, which is 700
MB big.
So there is at most 4,5GB - 0,7 GB = 3,8 GB free on the DV
I tried on another PC (same SW versions).
There the screenshot help window appears 1 second after clicking the Help
button, but is empty, the only after 7 seconds the contents appear. During that
time one CPU core is 100% busy with process gnome-help.
This is an Intel Core2 Duo T7200, two core m

It does not affect any critical infrastructure packages and the patch is a few
lines.
Because so baobab is pretty useless, as it show completely wrong data

I tried the Dapper i386 Desktop Cd live environment and experienced the
same problem :
doubleclick on the floppy icon na dit takes about a minute to do
something and then it does NOT open the floppy contents. Doubleclicking
it again finaly opens the contents. (file list window).
The same happens
After the operation the CD appears to have the same contents as before.
That is UDF v 1.50 with packet writing and a some files on it.

The debian install time partitioner reduces the size of the extended
partition to the minumum possible. That is : On a 60 GB disk, if there
are one 10 GB primary partition and two logical partition of size 5 GB
and 30 GB , the extended partition will be sized 35 GB. So the unused
space (60 - 10 - 3
As I said, I used UDF CD-RWs, formatted for packet writing.

After booting the live CD, I clicked the "Install" icon on the desktop.
In step three of the install wiyard, it ask about the keyboard layout.
Two problems :
- it defaults to US lazout, even if I choose Slove
Oh, it also forces the 104key layout, killing the key next to left SHIFT.
(off course I told it that I use a 105 key kbd just 5 minutes ago)
