I notice the same error on a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo7600 notebook computer

Gnome main menu Quit Hibernate creates a black screen with a dialog where
I could remove password barring. Entering my user password removes the barring
and restores the Ubuntu screen without LAN access.

After resuming from s2disk ALSA will not produce any sound. For example, all
tests in Gnome main menu System Preferences Sound Preferences do produce a
sound after an Ubuntu restart but not after a Resume from Suspend-to-Disk. They
used to produce a sound under Feisty

The bug does not occur if I call the HAL Device Manager via Gnome main menu

My dialogue 'Services settings' (=services-admin) shows apmd (=Gnome Power
Manager) as activated but my Gnome System Administration System_Monitor

Looking up packages.ubuntu.com tells me that kinit is a part of
bootcd-mkinitramfs.
But this is wrong. I do not have installed bootcd-mkinitramfs.
