I did the tests with the three mentioned kernels and I also did an
additional test with Ubuntu 20.10 (the file system there is ZFS, but
that doesn't make that much of a difference). Every kernel aside the one

Same here. On 3/7 of my hosts I get the error described above. These 3
hosts use ZFS while the remaining 4 don't.

This affects me with kernel 5.8.0-36-generic and Ubuntu 20.10.

Lenovo Legion 5 15ARH05 with Ryzen 7 4800H, Radeon graphics disabled in
BIOS, NVIDIA GTX 1650, Mint 20, kernel 5.4.0-48-generic.
Doesn't boot with HDMI plugged in, when plugged later it works normally.
The same issue here in Fedora32 gnome-shell 3.36.5. Alt+F2->(r) fixes
the issue for a while, but in some time it comes back. The mouse clicks
are inactive in the middle of the screen (horizontally), but seem to
work correctly on the left and right. For example in Chrome with 29 tabs

Very well. I’m now running the Logitech receiver on Mint 20 and the
kernel is 5.4.0-40-generic from Ubuntu and it works fine.

kernels. As mentioned in the original report, it’s fine with Fedora 32
and whatever kernel is in there.

On my main computer with Geforce 330M I have a background that's 1x
screen res and I haven't been getting the corrupted background. I just

I had problems with audio also, so i had to add two lines:
echo "options snd-hda-intel dmic_detect=0" | sudo tee -a
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
echo "blacklist snd_soc_skl" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
After executing these two commands audio
IMO these should be part of standard Ubuntu installation, or at least
required by Libreoffice. The user experience when opening documents
written in MS Office in its standard fonts is currently terrible. Seems
like a very easy change, it's surprising it hasn't been implemented yet.
