reassign the bug there. Thanks!

Thanks for your comment, Steve. Disabling Xv by using gstreamer-

I disabled Xv for cheese by setting it to use the ximagesink element
rather than gconfvideosink. Now, cheese will always use X11 regardless
of the general gstreamer setting in gconf

[Bug 261473] Re: Cheese video disappears when minimized or maximized

2008-10-22 Thread Gary Lasker
Per Tony's comment of 2008-08-28:

The upstream Gnome bug ( #549430 ) has been closed as the Cheese developers
feel this is a video driver bug.

In this case, the video chip in question is an Intel 945G. Someone needs to
 test this
on a system with a non-Intel chip so that we can indeed verify that this is a
 video driver bug.

I tested this today on my desktop machine (Apple Macbook Pro) which has
a built-in Apple iSight webcam and the symptom does not occur. The
video image is restored correctly when maximizing and minimizing.

[Bug 206700] [NEW] Add patches from Debian for version 2.22.0

2008-03-25 Thread Gary Lasker
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cheese

Loïc Minier notes that Debian has included the following patches in preparing
their 2.22.0 version We should include these as well.

  * debian/patches/00_fix_crash_on_init.patch:
+ Added. Fixed crash on intialisation because of running strcmp on NULL.
  (From upstream svn)
  * debian/patches/10_fallback_on_failure.patch:
+ Added. Fallback to videotestsrc if getting information from the video
  device fails
  * debian/patches/20_dont_start_pipeline_in_init.patch:
+ Added. Don't create the gstreamer pipeline in the Webcam object
initialisation as this is quite bad style. As a nice side-effect this
fixes cheese not using the webcam device set in gconf.

[Bug 207437] [NEW] Hildon only: Cheese crashes when using menu items About, Quit

2008-03-26 Thread Gary Lasker
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cheese

When running Cheese on the hildon desktop, choosing either of the two
menu items Quit or About will cause the program to crash. Quit crashes
with a SIGABRT, and About with a SIGSEGV (see attached debug output).
Note that in the case of Quit, the error does not occur when quitting
Cheese by tapping the hildon desktop X; in this case the program exits
normally.

I'm using Cheese version 2.22.0-0ubuntu2, on a device running UME.

NOTE: This bug applies *only* to Cheese running in hildon mode. The
corresponding menu items work without error when running Cheese on the
desktop.

I'll attach some debug output. I haven't had a chance yet to
investigate this further.

[Bug 215948] [NEW] Update cheese to 2.22.1 (include hildon patch)

2008-04-11 Thread Gary Lasker
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cheese

There's a new upstream version of Cheese (2.22.1) which includes the
following bug fixes. We should update to it:

- cheese crashed while initializing webcam on some devices, fixes bug
#522143, courtesy of Alex Rostovtsev
- cheese did not list its gnome-vfs dependency, fixes bug #522152,
courtesy of Alex Rostovtsev
- cheese did not open the webcam device set in gconf, courtesy of
Sjoerd Simons, fixes bug #522198
- cheese crashed if getting information from a webcam fails, courtesy
of Sjoerd Simons, fixes bug #522197
- set the max waiting time for detecting a camera to 10 seconds, fixes
bug #520394
- do not allow to take pictures, while the webcam is initialising,
fixes bug #523121
- show our fancy countdown widget by default

Note that a couple of these fixes were included as patches for
2.22.0-0ubuntu2, so these patches can be removed with this update.

[Bug 223172] [NEW] Take Picture button is enabled outside gtk thread lock

2008-04-27 Thread Gary Lasker
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cheese

Inside the camera setup thread, some UI updates are done using
gdk_threads_enter/leave(). However, the call to enable the Take Picture button
currently occurs *after* gdk_threads_leave(), so it is occurring outside the
gtk thread lock.

It's a very simple fix. I've filed a patch against Cheese upstream SVN
trunk and it has been accepted.

[Bug 193449] [NEW] Default URL for Blogger 1.0 is incorrect

2008-02-19 Thread Gary Lasker
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: drivel

When attempting to connect to a Blogger 1.0 account, a dialog is displayed
(Sending/Receiving - Retrieving user information) and does not go away. The
problem appears to be that the default URL that Drivel defines for Blogger 1.0
is not (or is no longer) valid:

http://plant.blogger.com/api/RPC2

The correct URL to use is:

http://www.blogger.com/api/RPC2

The code should be updated to use this new default value.

[Bug 185669] Re: Update hildon UI patch for cheese 2.21.5

2008-03-16 Thread Gary Lasker
Made the update to version 2.22.0 and integrated Matthew Garrett's
hildonization patch from upstream. I also regenerated the autotools
patch using:

 1. libtoolize --force --copy
 2. autoreconf; rm -rf autom4te.cache; true

The first was needed to fix libtool mismatch errors when attempting to
build.

I'm afraid that this has resulted in a very large debdiff.

I tested the resulting .debs in both the hildon and desktop
environments.

[Bug 244615] Re: Update cheese to 2.22.3

2008-07-15 Thread Gary Lasker
All previous functionality of the new version in -proposed has been
verified using a Macbook Pro running Ubuntu 8.04 natively. The fixes
for the bugs called out in the SRU changelog have all been verified as
well.

In addition to the bug fixes specifically called out in the SRU
changelog, I verified that an additional bug has been fixed in this new
version (LP: #222515).

Note finally that the video recording freeze bug (LP: #204875) is *not
yet* fixed in this version.

[Bug 437868] Re: File - Install will install the wrong app

2010-01-06 Thread Gary Lasker
This bug has been fixed in software-center - 1.1.7. Applications can
now be installed and removed directly from the applications list view.
The menu items listed below are enabled/disabled consistent with the
state of the selected app in the list after filtering/searching and when
switching between Get Software and Installed Software views. In
addition, the menu items become correctly disabled when navigating to
category or subcategory views:

   File-Install
   File-Remove
   Edit-Copy Web Link

[Bug 861999] [NEW] Regression: Can't edit or delete your own review

2011-09-28 Thread Gary Lasker
Public bug reported:

Software Center version 4.1.23.6, Ubuntu Oneiric

davmor2 reports that the ability to edit or delete your own review is no
longer available. This is a regression.

To reproduce:
Open Software Center, navigate to an application and write a review.

What happens:
After you have submitted your review and it appears in the reviews area on the
details page, an Inappropriate? link is displayed in the bottom right corner
of your review area.

What should happen:
After you have submitted your review and it appears in the reviews area on the
details page, there should be two links displayed at the bottom right corner of
the review area, Edit and Delete. Clicking either should allow you to take
the corresponding action.
