I've switched back to the 2.6.32-25 kernel which seems to have no such
suspend/hibernate problems for me (although a friend using an eeepc901
reports similar problems).

Guys, I am new to this so cannot really say... On logging in, I was told
that there are drivers available for my NVidia graphics card. So I tried
to download and update... The download worked but for some reason it
does not seem to be working as intended.

Title:

initramfs] failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-
I have the same problem of steadily increasing memory usage (about 100MB
increase per day) by nm-applet on my desktop system that has two
ethernet NICs and no wireless, a TAP device created by OpenVPN and a
vboxnet device for VirtualBox. Both ethernet NICs are listed in
/etc/network/interfaces so
Here is output from the command
sudo pmap -d `pgrep nm-applet` | grep -v '\.so'

Sorry about posting twice in a row. Somehow my the previous one was
sent before I hit the Post Comment button. Anyway, I notice that nm-
applet is not the only Gnome application with this problem, but it seems
to be the most susceptible. The problem is that the file icon-
theme.cache is mapped
I've upgraded to lucid lynx, but I am still having the problem.
If I have the battery in, I get the following from upower -d:
Device: /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/line_power_AC
native-path: (null)
power supply: no
updated: Wed Dec 31 19:00:00 1969
When I remove the battery, upower -d gives shorter output (no longer sensing
any battery):
Device: /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/line_power_AC
native-path: (null)
power supply: no

I think this is my core problem - my upower daemon is not properly
configured, so it doesn't tell the rest of the system I have a battery,
and the application-level stuff (gnome-power-manager et al.) don't
realize there's any battery at all. I've tried googling for some
information on how to try
David - Thanks. I originally did file a different bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-power-manager/+bug/497518
It seems like there's some configuration problem with devkit/upower.
FWIW, my machine has been upgraded from at least Ubuntu 8.04 through the
9.x and now to 10.x. I
David Tombs' most recent comment to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-power-
manager/+bug/497518 suggests this may be a different issue.
FWIW, I suspect I have some problem with devkit/upower configuration. After
upgrading to 10.04, I still see the issue. Running upower -d, I see
This bug or missing file, comes up at every update. Still no
resolution, if indeed it' relates to a missing file.

Hello John and Vinagre,
John, your workaround WORKS for me as well! MANY thanks for letting us
know!
Geoff
I may have found a workaround. If I select view-scaling, it show the
correct full-screen view, without the gnome toolbar. I am then able to
repeatedly jump in and out of fullscreen

Binary package hint: pidgin
When I start pidgin 2.6.1 and it logs into my AIM account, none of my
buddies show and trying to message any results in a local permit/deny

ToolsPrivacy and change the privacy drop down
Just upgraded to Lucid. Still not working.
