I have Ubuntu-12.10/irssi 0.8.15/libssl 1.0.1c-3. After connecting
successfully to an SSL IRC server and joining some channel on it, I get
the error
read error: decryption failed or bad
oftc works for me too w/o problems. The IRC server libssl breaks with is
a company internal one, so unfortunately I can't give you access to
that, but besides me there is at least two other people having the same
problem and the same same solution (downgrading to 1.0.1c-3ubuntu2)
works for them

Creating a channel with 'openssl s_server -cipher DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA
-cert certfile.pem -key keyfile.pem' and 'openssl s_client -connect
localhost:4433' and transferring data in both directions alone didn't
trigger the problem.

Thanks, it narrows it down. I looked through the Intel HW IOMMU code and
haven't found anything obvious that could explain this.
OTOH, looking again at the dmesg with the crash
(dmesg-3.10.0-rc6-00406-g73bc88c) I can't see the HW IOMMU being
enabled.
I saw this issue in 15.10 and reported it to the upstream Debian
maintainer, see [1]. The fix attached there is now applied to the
upstream ifupdown git repository.

python-zsi is missing from focal. The version installed with pip is
broken on focal (throwing a can't import ext.reader error), I had to
install the python-zsi package from the bionic repository to get things
working.

ZSI is still used, at least by Intel employees. I understand that it's
scheduled to be removed, but I wonder if it went through a proper
deprication. It could be removed only when the Python2 support is
removed.
