I have the same problem with webcam Microsoft LifeCam NX-3000.
When I boot raring ringtail with kernel 3.5.0-27 it works fine. But with the
actual kernel of raring ringtail (3.8.0-19, package linux - 3.8.0-19.30) it
doesn't works.

It's really just updating the Application settings in Twitter and Re-auth. And

The problem appears also in gnome (unity has a complete unusable screen)
so the problem might be related to xorg!
My horizontal screensize is pretty big 2* 1650 !
In Kubuntu the screen is ok until the last session setup icons appear.

I restarted my laptop several times and the problem persisted. All other
maverik pc's were able to see each other. Today everything is fine and I
can't reproduce the problem.
I didn't change anything yesterday at my network config at all !
