Googling around I and trying different things I found from http://groups.google.com/group/eliberaprogramaro/msg/7304b9fd744a55fd that typing sudo localedef -f UTF-8 -i eo eo.UTF-8 solved my problem. I have no idea what the command does, but it fixes the problem for me. -- Can't select
