FWIW, I saw this problem after updating an older Alpha install a while

Weirdness with the mute button. Pressing mute on its own does nothing.
However, if you press Mute then immediately press Vol Up or Vol Down,
the speaker is muted.
If sound is already muted, then pressing mute alone does nothing.
