Binary package hint: rhythmbox
Trying to listen to the stream at
http://stations.loudcity.com/219/rfd.pls, rhythmbox goes silent whenever
a song changes. It still streams data from the site, but there is no
sound. If I wait for a few minutes, sometimes the sound comes back,

Problem with the radio station, not Rhythmbox or Ubuntu. Can reproduce
issue on Windows with WMP or RealPlayer. Sorry for the false report.

Never mind, this appears to be a problem with the specific station. I
observed the same behavior on a Windows system, using both Windows Media
Player and RealPlayer. Other stations I've tried can be listened to fine
on Ubuntu with Rhythmbox.

Affects me too, on Kubuntu 11, hangs the whole system regularly.

If you have a terminal open when the symptoms arise and try to start
another program, vlc for instance you get :

Fresh install and upgrade to latests packages across the board and I get
this as well, ubuntu is not unusable for me.

multi function logitech it shows the symptoms.
