Left clicking on clock applet hangs gnome-panel. Gnome-panel won't come
up again even after killing X. Only killall -9 gnome-panel works.
Right clickin on clock does show the expected behaviour. There are no
locations in Clock Preferences / Locations. This
In current Hardy alpha 6 the problem in /lib seems to be fixed
completely. However still some libraries in /usr/lib have it:

I already had written a little script for that does the same thing but
the one you pointed to is more generalized and can be used for 1 drives
so I started using it now. Works like expected now. I don't use -B 255
for ac power though. Because the disk overheats then.

Confirmed on Dell M1330. The problem is with the lshw binary. If I kill
that binary I can continue with the other steps.

Sony Vaio VGN-N395E Laptop runs at about 60C when it's idle. Fan does
not kick in until the temperature rises to above 75C, then it kicks in
and temperature stabilizes at 78-79C when using %100 cpu. Normal idle
temperature for this laptop is about 35-40C on windows vista.
I tried every trick on this list and nothing worked. I have a sony vaio
VGN-N395E laptop with hitachi HTS541616J9SA00 disk.
Fedora does not do this. So there should be a way to make it work. I'm
attaching btrace log.
