It also happened to me. Pidgin does not start on a wubi install of
Ubuntu 8.04 on a desktop. It used to work and then stopped working, also
tried to remove and re-install with no success.

Upgrade Manager for distribution to Intrepid Ibex makes only partial upgrade
The screen also sort of warps or something in white with some blue
and red stripes then corrects itself whenever a new page is opened in
full screen mode.

Good day I have resorted to going back to using Hardy. Its okey because it's
a Long Term Support edition. I was looking forward to using Ibex tho. Funny
thing is I also tried Ibex on my old P4 but had issues with the old NVidia
graphic cards. Thank you very much for your response, I look forward
Will try when I get my 701 back, it is having some boot up problems which
now affect booting into the Asus splash screen not sos sure but it may be a
hardware issue however, have gone back to Hardy due to problems with
Intrepid.

Public bug reported:
System monitor show a 100% use of processor with only the Asus on

Still no full upgrade, will wait for Beta release, partial upgrades only
available or allowed. No wi-fi, Archive type still not
Public bug reported:
Upgrade Manager does not make a complete upgrade from Ubuntu 8.04 to
Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 6. It only makes a partial upgrade without network
manager hence wi-fi, partial upgrade does not open drives in the
Places tab in the toolbar stating that it is not formatted for
archive.
