I just upgraded to Edgy, and this problem reared its ugly head again.
chmod fixed it, but it always worked for me in Dapper, and it shouldn't
regress like this.

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: python-central
Hi,
I recently upgraded my Kubuntu install to Edgy... here's yet another
package upgrade problem.
This morning, Blender wanted to be upgraded. I ran aptitude upgrade,
and here's the (partial) output:
Setting up blender (2.42a-1ubuntu1)
Public bug reported:
I attempted a fairly basic install using Edgy Knot 3 powerpc desktop CD.
I had to manually edit partitions to create a swap and ext3 partition:
the disk was previously partitioned using mac os x installer's disk
utility to have 10GB HFS+ partition first, then 10GB free space

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: texlive-lang-polish
The octave-forge package (or, on my computer, MATLAB), has an executable
/usr/bin/mex. The Polish texlive package (and *only* the Polish one)
also has a /usr/bin/mex, so it doesn't install.
** Affects: texlive-lang (Ubuntu)
