This is likely a duplicate of Bug #121653. FGLRX doesn't support 2.6.23,
which could really mean doesn't support the new SLUB allocator (which
Ubuntu uses in 2.6.22).

Resume from suspend fails with FGLRX

You received this bug notification because
I still can't suspend with 8.42... I'm currently building a SLAB kernel
to rule that out.

Are you all sure that recompiling with SLAB will actually help?
Yes. I compiled my own kernel, exactly like Ubuntu's except for SLAB
being enabled instead of SLUB, and now the machine suspends properly. It
doesn't wake up properly, but that's another, older bug (Bug #84991).
I installed this
On resuming from suspend (I compiled a SLAB kernel, so now I'm past Bug
#121653), I get these lines:
Oct 24 11:59:59 nick kernel: [ 7358.636000] [fglrx:firegl_addmap] *ERROR*
existing map 0xdfb56000 (handle 0xf8eb1000)
Oct 24 11:59:59 nick kernel: [ 7358.636000] [fglrx:firegl_addmap] *ERROR*
Just in case anyone else wants to try it without an hour of compiling,
I've put my SLAB kernel at http://screamingarmadillo.org/SLAB.

Bugs,
I've installed the kernel modules and suspend/hibernate does not resume
here when POST_VIDEO=false.
Nope, resuming doesn't work for me, either (Bug #84991 is still an issue
for me, no matter what's in my /etc/default/acpi-support file). The
important thing for the purposes of this bug is that
Thanks for the -X tip; that's very helpful.
Hooray for running Vim again!
