[Bug 809060] Re: Windows stretched after setting virtual screen resolution

2011-10-14 Thread Jonathan Greenblatt
I noticed this said affects one user. I am also affected. I have a Acer Aspire 1 with a screen resolution of 800x600. I use the following xrandr command below. The virtual screen size seems to change but when I mouse to the bottom of the screen the panning appears to be disabled. Hope this

I am thinking I might have to fix this myself if I want it fixed. A bit of thought is needed to avoid making the bug where things are lost in multi-monitor displays not come back when fixing this. I do not have time to fix this currently but I have found a workaround for small monitors. I have

The bug affecting dual monitors was to keep things from going off the edge of the screen of the smaller monitor. In fixing that bug the signal to pan in xorg was disabled due to the fact the mouse does not go off the screen to signal the need to scroll. Some apps will not work on small screens

I figured it out by attaching to the process with gdb and doing a backtrace. Apparently my wtmp and btmp files got full from devices doing remote logins on a regular basis. I became suspicious that there was something particular to what I was doing based on how few people were affected by this.
