and has been supported since Ubuntu 10.10 (I think) works well with
driver module rt2870sta - but only after I blacklisted module rt2800usb.

I did some testing today. Sorry for the delay.
I noticed that rt2800usb actually occasionally works on Natty with
rt2870sta blacklisted. I did need to remove an reinsert the usb DWL-G122
rev.E USB stick a few times to get the net actually up, and the
connection seems less stable than with
Sorry, the oneiric image I used previously was an old one, downloaded on
2011-06-03. I downloaded a new one today and tried again. This time the
net seemed quite stable, although connecting took longer than I would
usually expect, maybe twenty seconds. Ssh was lagless; I didn't install

I found that as a workaround you can disable menu access keys from
Keyboard Shortcuts in Edit menu.
