[Bug 1966855] Re: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/libpcre2-posix3_10.39-3+u, trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpcre2-posix.so.3.0.1', which is also in package libpcre2
Response at sury.org did not contain enough instructions for resolving issue, but by reaction on bug I understood that it is not serious. So, I resolved issue locally by myself in the following way (however, without full understanding of consequences): sudo dpkg --purge libpcre2-posix2 sudo apt --fix-broken install sudo apt upgrade (The instructions are provided for those who encountered the same bug but have not enough knowledge in Linus administration.) [Bug 1742675] Re: after upgrade to linux-image-extra-4.13.0-26-generic the system does not start at all
I'm author of this bug report. The bug has been resolved by the recent upgrade. BUT... during recent days the system freezed rather often and required restart to be usable again. It happened randomly in the following circumstances, for example: a) manipulation with complex js widgets by mouse; b) running heavy job in gulp through yarn; c) and some other unrelated activities. [Bug 1742675] Re: after upgrade to linux-image-extra-4.13.0-26-generic the system does not start at all
I suppose, the following 2 bugs are related to the fact that I work under linux-image-extra-4.10.0-42-generic. Both appeared in Phpstorm only recently after this main bug: a) Once some PHP files edited through Phpstorm were cached somewhere deeply in Ubuntu. So, when i ran them through local webserver older versions were loaded. The bug was resolved by restarting Ubuntu. b) Now there is continuous bug. Phpstorm performs some indexing operations with files continously and some part of UI are blinking. As you can see all this is related somehow to file system. [Bug 1649280] [NEW] virt-builder stucks in endless loop due to /sbin/dhclient-script failure

How to reproduce the bug (on 16.04): ~# apt install libguestfs-tools ~# virt-builder debian-8 --root-password password:xxx --hostname testvm --format qcow2 -v Proposed solution: Do not use /etc/fstab for finding out the state of / in dhclient-script, but use /proc/mounts instead of it. Re: [Bug 1573700] Re: Kernel instability
Hi, I don't recall having these problems prior 4.4 kernel but it could be that they were not as pronounced and reported. I can confirm the same issue on 4.5.2 kernel though. I can't easily test the 4.6 RC kernel because of nvidia DKMS incompatibility. I tried it with no luck - some interface changed and DKMS compilation failes (package configure phase). The log is attached. I can re-test it with updated DKMS if available. [Bug 1574142] [NEW] High load (compiz or xorg) and black screen instead of suspend - xenial 16.04
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 16.04 Compiz 1:0.9.12.2+16.04.20160415-0ubuntu1 Xorg 1:7.7+13ubuntu3 Using Dell E6420 Problem is when I close a lid or manually try to suspend Ubuntu laptop is 100% CPU load with black screen. Its still working cause keyboard is highlighted and I can access by SSH. Always first try to suspend is ok, but next one makes issue as i subscribed. Its doesn’t matters if I upgrade from 15.10 or just install fresh 16.04. Tried default 4.4.0-21-generic and 4.5.1 kernels. As I said I can access by SSH so pls give me some tips what do you need, I will try to check and give you a report. As attachment is output from lspci -vvnn command.. btw I asked on Askubuntu what should I do with this problem when I discovered it on 16.04 beta1. One guy has same issue as me, he reported bug but I cant find it now. Thx for help and I hope we can solve this problem. [Bug 1209106] Re: system tray icon is next to launcher
While point 1 is quite fair, point 2 is totaly unfair - you're not aware of such app because noone will create such app. After testing that it does not work on Ubuntu how are ppl suposed to submit app to repository? They will have to make a workaround anyway because it does not work. According to http://doc.qt.io/QtSupportedPlatforms/index.html Qt 5.2 is supported for another year, but they state that fix was done on Ubuntu side for Qt 4.8. [Bug 1396187] Re: Biosdevname does not generate expected interface names
** Description changed: After upgrade from 12.04 LTS to 14.04 LTS we lost consistent Ethernet interfaces names. We expected em1,2/p1p1,.. names, but we had eth0,eth1,... [Bug 1309578] Re: Ubuntu 14.04 suddenly reboots when booting from Live USB AMD A8 6600k
The title of that bug should be renamed to Kernel 3.13 still broken on Radeon HD based desktops and laptops like Sangeet is suggesting. I used option Install new hardware support on 12.04 LTS and I my system started rebooting because this step installed kernel 3.13. Important side-effect was scanning disc drive everytime after reboot (cancelling didn't help as drive coudn't be mounted). Similar problem I found during installing fresh 14.04.01 - during starint X server for isntaller my computer is rebooted. My system - Motherboard: MSI FM2-A55M-E33 (MS-7721), CPU: AMD A10-5700 APU, GPU: [AMD/ATI] Trinity [Radeon HD 7660D] Bug is opened 4 months for 14.04 but at least user experience it upfront but I don't understand why you are introducing this LEVEL of bug in 12.04 LTS if it is already known. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1309578 Title: Ubuntu 14.04 suddenly reboots when booting from Live USB AMD A8 6600k To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1309578/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Try to remove old kernel. Probably you have not enought space in /boot. 1. Check current kernel: uname -r 2. List installed kerels: dpkg --list | grep linux-image 3, Remove old one: sudo apt-get purge linux-image-x.x.x.x-generic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1232784 Title: package linux-image-extra-3.8.0-31-generic 3.8.0-31.46 failed to install/upgrade: run-parts: /etc/kernel/postinst.d/initramfs-tools exited with return code 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/initramfs-tools/+bug/1232784/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
