I had a fresh edgy installation, at first time all worked as it meant to be.
But in some point after an update the text was missed...
The workaround suggested by elixxir worked like a charm.

it will work like a charm..
i dont know why _(b%(name)s:/b %(value)s) is putted for
translation since infos_dict has strings already translated.
Weird, the translation to pt_BR just left the original string as it is,
no change made.

I've checked the string translation in launchpad for pt_BR and it is ok,
without the mentioned error.

It looks like the X-Ubuntu-Gettext-Domain line is useless in .desktop
files.
If your remove that line, or set it to another random value, the
translation works as it should be.
Now we need to find the reason of that line, why do we have to have it in the
.desktop files?

The bConfigurationValue was found inspecting the result of the command
$ lsusb -v -s 003:004.
Notice that bConfigurationValue is used by the WMC Device of the modem
with values 2 and 3, both works.

Sometimes unity draws the dash with strange colors.
It works like expected after unity --replace command.

Thanks, the sudo apt-get dist-upgrade seems to have solved it. The
problem now is cosmetic: I have 6 items under Distribution updates that
can't be selected (and won't install

There's nothing to do with lenses, I am reporting that the bug happens
from the system menu. Not duplicate.

When clicking the webcam system menu it brings Software Center to
install an application to handle webcam but the it shows the old layout,
very different when you call Software Center from the dash or launcher.

I am using 0.4-1~ubuntu0.1 from proposed, the resize works, but I am not
able to see the progress dialog, the only way to see if it finnishes is
looking to file size changes. Can you see the progress dialog?
