Clarifying "Connected to console port (RJ45) via minicom using 115200
8N1" since it may be confusing. The connection to the device's console
port (an RJ45 physical connector) was via a USB-to-serial converter
cable connected to a serial-to-RJ45 cable provided by Axiomtek. The

however, assigning two IP addresses to an interface the way netplan does
causes snmpd to produce numerous "error on subcontainer 'ia_addr' insert
(-1)" entries in syslog reported by snmpd. This should'nt

day.

I logged in using the elinks browser (since the system has no GUI),
allowed the application to have access via my account and nothing
apparent happened. I did change the status to confirmed as requested

If I understand the keepalived > 2.0.x behavior referred to by cdmiller
above (see 2019-03-07 comment) that is not the appropriate response to
the problem. Granted, it mitigates the consequences butr doesn't
address the underlying issue. A systemd-source issue should not cause
keepalived failover
