Well, since years ago things could change a bit if needed...

I believe this is not a NM bug, it happens in Jaunty also. The problem
is pppoeconf putting eth0 stanzas into /etc/network/interfaces.
NetworkManager does not manage the interfaces configured through
/etc/network/interfaces by design.
Maybe this could be turned in a feature request for NM, such

This is not an issue anymore for me since I upgraded to Jaunty, but it
has been an issue until the last day I had been using Intrepid. Now I
haven't Intrepid anymore on any of my computers, so I don't know if it
is still a issue for it.
As a side note (e.g. rant) Intrepid support will end in 8

I add that when I press Fn+F8 in linux-image-2.6.31-21-generic after gdm
has started, nothing happens but a new line is written to dmesg:

This is not a dvdauthor bug, it's a feature. This bug should filed against
Bombono DVD.
Btw, there's another workaround: define the env var VIDEO_FORMAT, for example:

I think that would be the simplest fix for Bombono (or any other DVD

Just a note about what @trampster wrote in comment #21: it's not true that in
the free-as-in-freedom software world users do not need to agree to the
