Same problem with HP Pavillion dv2000; ran all the listed
troubleshooting and there are no key events generated for the brightness
keys (as seen by either keymap or acpi_listen); brightness function
itself (via applet or xbacklight) work fine.

I believe it was installed by default. During the upgrade, I noticed the
installer spent a lot of time working with a lot of different language
packs. If I'm not mistaken, a CD install of Ubuntu usually deletes those
language packs.

I tried installing Gutsy Gibbon Tribe 3 on my Acer Travelmate 4002 LMi.
For this I used the DesktopCD and the AlternateCD. In both it didn't
show the existing partitions on the harddrive if I choose manual in the
step of partitioning. But fdisk -l show me all the partitions

as for my first post, I'd like to say that I own the same adapter and it works
properly with Me-TV and the karmic release version (after upgrading the
firmware by the system Hardware Drivers). As far as I can see the system
did'nt find the firmware for the adapter.
