[Bug 1574347] Re: [SRU] Re-read the link type if the name changed

2017-01-13 Thread MaTachi
larabi: I came from Fedora, and I had been running it for the last
releases on my laptop. Never had any WiFi issues, so there's not
anything wrong with my hardware. I recently installed Ubuntu 16.04.1
LTS, but these WiFi issues are quite annoying and I'm contemplating
switching back to Fedora. I don't understand how this still hasn't been
fixed in an LTS version of the OS.

[Bug 1585863] Re: WiFi malfunction after suspend & resume stress - sudo wpa_cli scan required to fix it.

2017-01-03 Thread MaTachi
This bug seems to affect a lot of people on Ask Ubuntu too: "Wifi
doesn't work after suspend after 16.04 upgrade"
http://askubuntu.com/questions/761180/wifi-doesnt-work-after-suspend-
after-16-04-upgrade, including me.

I have a Thinkpad T440 where I previously ran Fedora for multiple
releases. Never had any issues with the wifi in combination with
sleep/resume. The other day I installed Ubuntu 16.04.1 and ran an
update.

The workaround on Ask Ubuntu that is to run `sudo systemctl restart
network-manager.service` works for me, but I feel this shouldn't be an
issue in the first place after the first service pack on an LTS release.

[Bug 1192289] [NEW] IPCError when starting Ubuntu One

2013-06-18 Thread MaTachi
Public bug reported:

Launching Ubuntu One prints the following error message:

Sorry, an error has occurred and Ubuntu One needs to close
IPCError

When I run u1sdtool in the terminal it outputs the following error:

Oops, an error ocurred:
org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Spawn.ChildExited: Process
/usr/lib/ubuntuone-client/ubuntuone-syncdaemon exited with status 1

I suspect the error has something to do with a Python dependency since I have
fiddled around with pip, but I'm not sure. How should I proceed?

[Bug 153626] Re: Initiate Window Move can only be set to button 1

2012-12-27 Thread MaTachi
This is still present in Ubuntu 12.10. I'm trying to disable Initiate
Window Move, but when I go back to the main menu and then back to Move
Window it's enabled again. A workaround I found is to change the
modifier from Alt to Shift-Control-Alt-Super (which I will never press
or that no program will ask me to use).

[Bug 1093421] [NEW] 32 or 64 bit, what is recommended?

2012-12-24 Thread MaTachi
Public bug reported:

On the download page it says that 32 bit is recommended:
http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop
While the wiki says 64 bit is preferred:

I think this needs some elaborating, because it's a bit confusing now.

[Bug 1068662] Re: webapps are not working :(

2012-12-23 Thread MaTachi
I ran into some problems with my AMD drivers, and during my hassle I
purged `compiz` (and packages it depends on) and then I reinstalled the
packages `compiz` and `ubuntu-desktop`. That made my Firefox
installation to ask whether I want to install a web app when I visit a
compatible site, at least I think so. However, the web apps don't seem
to install. And I'm not sure which specific package that you need to
reinstall, I'm neither sure if I messed something up (like removed or
installed too many packages).

[Bug 1068662] Re: webapps are not working :(

2012-10-27 Thread MaTachi
@8basepairs, I have updated my system, both through the terminal (sudo
apt-get update ; sudo apt-get dist-upgrade) and through Ubuntu's Update
Manager. Everything is up-to-date, (including version 16.0.2 of
Firefox). I still can't see any Desktop Integration in the Preferences
window. I also installed the Grooveshark webapp through the Software
Center, and it didn't appear in the Dash or in the Launcher, and when I
visited the site I didn't get any desktop integration.

[Bug 1068662] Re: webapps are not working :(

2012-10-25 Thread MaTachi
I have upgraded from 12.04, and it doesn't work for me neither.

When I visited Gmail it prompted me if I wanted to install the webapp,
which I chose to do, and I can find it through the Dash. But it doesn't
appear in the Launcher when I launch it. And I can't manage to get any
other sites (such as Twitter, Facebook, Reddit) to ask me if I want
desktop integration. And when I open the preferences window in Firefox I
can't find anything about desktop integration. Apparently you should be
able to see this in the preferences window:
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QxPXtxj4Wes/UGZfb4sUU4I/Kas/FZc920qnAzA/s1600
/webapps-firefox-exceptions.png

I installed Twitter through the terminal (unity-webapps-twitter), but I
couldn't find it through Dash and I couldn't see any difference when I
visited the site.

However, I have reinstalled Firefox, created new profiles, installed and
removed Firefox Aurora from Mozilla's PPA, etc. So maybe I have managed
to break something along the way. I'm running stock Firefox (version
16.0.1) from Ubuntu's repository now, but is there something else I
should try to reinstall?

[Bug 824313] Re: flash video playes on left monitor

2012-10-24 Thread MaTachi
I'm using multiple monitors and I'm also experiencing this problem with
some video sites. However, it works on some other sites, so I'm not
quite sure what they are doing what the others aren't. I don't have this
problem with any video players on Windows, so it can't only be the video
players' fault.

The problem:
I play a Flash video on one of my four monitors, press the Fullscreen button
and it fullscreens on the most left montior, regardless of where the browser
window is. (I also had this problem when I was only using two monitors.)

What should happen (which happens with some players):
The fullscreen view of the video should open on the same monitor as the browser
window is on.

[Bug 998138] [NEW] Unity's global menu bar doesn't show up correctly on external monitor

2012-05-11 Thread MaTachi
Public bug reported:

I just installed Ubuntu 12.04 and I'm running it with the default Unity
GUI. I have two monitors and the problem I'm experiencing is that the
global menu bar does only appear correctly on my right/second monitor.
On that monitor, the global menu bar appears when I hover with the mouse
cursor on the bar anywhere to the left of the tray icons, just as
expected.

However, on my left/first monitor, the global menu bar does appear
almost as on the right monitor. But not when I hover over the area where
the menu items are supposed to appear. If I move the mouse a bit to the
left or the right of that area, it does appear.

Here are two screenshots that maybe are easier to understand:
http://i.imgur.com/U3Ps7.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/fg8JM.jpg

My graphics card is an AMD 6870. I'm using the proprietary AMD graphics
drivers from Ubuntu's Additional Drivers window/service. However, this
problem was also present with the open source default drivers.
