Hi. I was running a three-monitor setup with two nVidia cards (7950GT
and 7300GS) and it worked okay, but when I upgraded to a 8600GT and
swapped out the 7300GS with the 7950GT, I started having problems.
I'm getting this problem too. Just upgraded to Intrepid. Graphics driver
is nVidia 177.80. I'm also running a Xinerama setup with two graphics
cards and three monitors.
The problem occurs about 50% of the time when I run a game (Quake 3,
etc) after it quits. It's also happening with my own
I switched from Xinerama to Twinview and the reported issues have gone
away. This isn't an ideal situation because I'm down one monitor now,
but at least my machine is usable again.
I have (or had) three monitors across two graphics cards, and Twinview
only supports two monitors on one card.

I've been experiencing this bug ever since I upgraded to Ubuntu 8.10
from 8.04.
It seems to mostly be triggered by running 3D games after the game
quits, but has randomly happened a couple of times too.

I added the 3 second delay to 2 machines and they have not seen the
problem for about a week - until this morning. I now have the time
entry corrupted on one of these machines. See attached screen shot.

Given that this bug has hung around for a couple of years without much
action, I thought I would have another dig around to see if I could find
anything useful.
I eventually came to the conclusion that this is actually a kernel
issue. It seems that the Gutsy kernel (2.6.22) returns immediately
I installed kernel 2.6.35 in lucid and I can confirm that this bug seems
to be fixed. An attempt to mount an export from a non-existent server
produces a No route to host message after about 3 seconds.

I'm glad to see that the problem with the shortcuts hint display seems
to have been fixed with the latest update, however I have to say that
I'm really disappointed with the current state of the keyboard shortcuts
in Precise.
We now have an inconsistent and non-intuitive set of shortcuts: The
Daniel, yes it is possible to reassign the keys, but the fact remains
that the default shortcuts are inconsistent, the reassigned shortcuts
won't match the shortcuts hint display and it's not possible to
reinstate the cycling behaviour.

the LEDs "FnLk" and "Muted Mic" stay on (it's a Lenovo T460s).
Pressing ESC doesn't seem to change anything and doesn't display log
messages.

is triggered manually or automatically if its running on battery power.
