[Bug 1761069] [NEW] usb mouse not working under 4.13.0-38

2018-04-04 Thread Matthias Sommer
Public bug reported:

Updated to 4.13.0-38 recently. After booting the mouse does not respond.
Back to -32 mouse works fine.
(-36 an -37 have problems copying to USB drives, bug already reported as
#1752946 there are also my hardware reports to be found)

Maybe it's a USB problem. Hardware works fine under older kernel.

I only use samba on rare occations and then usually via eth0.
That used to work. I only want to get rid of the error on doing updates.

The problem occurs not during normal use but on updating samba. So I
assume the log files will not help much.

This is what appears in /var/log/apt/term.log:

[Bug 1752946] Re: System freezes on copy to USB drive since kernel 4.13.0-36 (32bit)

2018-03-05 Thread Matthias Sommer
I really tried, but it does not do: I do not get a proposed kernel.

I enabled proposed updates, but I cannot enable the proposed archive in the
updates tab. The option for proposed simply does not exists. :-(
(cross checked on two other Ubuntu systems, none of them has the proposed
option in Updates)

I tried via apt in terminal but no kernel update, not even without the
selective upgrade variant. ( a few others but no kernel.

[Bug 387308] Re: HTTPS Proxy Support for file sync

2011-09-26 Thread Matthias Sommer
There is only one recommendation: Trash ubuntu one and use something else. I
switched to dropbox 1.5 years ago and I'm very satisfied. I will not return to
u1.
And I was beta tester because I liked the idea. I even initiated one of the
duplicates of this bug.
Now I only watch it for the popcorn effect.
I'ts very sad to see what's happening here. :-(

[Bug 467038] [NEW] [ECS GF7100/7050PVT-M3] late resume failure [non-free: nvidia]

2009-10-31 Thread Matthias Sommer
Public bug reported:

resume did not work (as it never did on this system, I just tried again with
9.10 and a increased swap size)
After hanging at resume-boot I had to boot from CD and fsck.
Then I rebooted sucessfully, but this message came up.

ProblemType: KernelOops
Annotation: This occured during a previous hibernate and prevented it from
resuming properly. The resume processing hung very near the end and will have
appeared to have completed normally.

[Bug 460570] Re: not online when connected via UMTS

2009-10-27 Thread Matthias Sommer
Update: I reverted to version 2.0beta of the betavine driver that worked under
Jaunty this morning due to massive connect problems with network manager as
well the betavine program.
Now it works but conflicted the whole Ubuntu One folder again.
At the moment a complete re-download is running (~ 1.1 GB).

[Bug 361554] Re: update-manager doesn't honor apt.conf Proxy setting

2009-10-27 Thread Matthias Sommer
Workaround: manually edit /etc/apt/sources.list and replace all
occurances of jaunty with karmic and launch update-manager (without
-d). This works, only does not give you the message box telling stuff
about the new release. It simply offers a distribution upgrade and if
allowed to do, executes this just fine.

[Bug 460570] Re: not online when connected via UMTS

2009-10-26 Thread Matthias Sommer
I have two ways to connect, the tool I used when creating the report and normal
using network manager.
The behavior is odd in both cases. When using network manager I got a connect
after all, but no data was transferred. On the other hand my whole Ubuntu One
folder was conflicted (twice, as I tried this twice).

ATM the netbook is packaged, I will report back with the requested
output tomorrow.

[Bug 460570] [NEW] not online when connected via UMTS

2009-10-25 Thread Matthias Sommer
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

I run Karmic rc on this machine. In installed using WLAN connection. Using this
connection I also connected an initially downloaded U1. This worked fine so far.
But usually this machine (a netbook) is connected to the net via UMTS(so just
right now). I can browse mail and so on, so the connection is OK. But ubuntuone
does not really regognize the connection.
watching syncdaemon.log (i have a small shellscript for this due to the
problems I encountered in the past), I see a we are ready message and MARKS
with empty queues. The tray icon has an exclamation mark and gives connect
when clicked. But it does not connect.
Where can I look?
BTW.: until friday I ran Jaunty here, using U1 beta and it worked via UMTS.
This installation used the betavine vodafone driver 2.0beta. Now i have 2.15 of
this driver.

[Bug 395710] Re: Opening Places/Computer nautilus crash with Segmentation fault

2009-07-07 Thread Matthias Sommer
