I have Toshiba Tecra S-433 and When i go to shut down tab and press HIBERNATE
or STANDBY botton nothing happen .

Ofcourse an extra 0.5s delay is better than a broken screenshot. A
normal user won't do much of screenshots, but when he does, he wants it
right, not fast!
Let's not think of this as the fix, but the workaround. Of course
the appropriate way is to have callbacks, or basically avoid effects

A workaround that increases the waiting amount, just so that normal

Fix the issue through setting blocking compositing
I'm not familiar with the KWin and related stuff, but this seems to be
working fine.

In my case, according to MySQL error logs, it was just an access error
caused by apparmor which solved by editing appropriate apparmor file.

@oriol thank you for your comment, it perfectly worked for me. all I did
was:
$ sudo apt-get install network-manager-pptp-gnome
then when opening the new VPN wizard the pptp option showed up.
