[Bug 1208993] Re: Ubuntu slows down and hangs while copying file from/to USB
Thanks @peterrus! I can confirm that using swapoff completely removes the hanging and stuttering during heavy disk IO. I don't see this only during file copy. Extracting archives, for example, or saving virtual machine state to disk cause the same kind of stuttering and hanging. It was impossible for me to import an .ova image into VirtualBox when swap was on because my system became unresponsive. After turning swap off, I can use virtualbox again!! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1208993 Title: Ubuntu slows down and hangs while copying file from/to USB To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1208993/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I have the same issue. `sudo systemctl restart maas-rackd.service` worked for me. Do you have any idea why this doesn't work automatically? [Bug 1222527] Re: Rename 'Software & Updates' label
Just wanted to add that the issue mpt talk about is now fixed: in the Gnome search view, system settings are now displayed very different from applications. [Bug 1876377] [NEW] Crackling sound on focal
Public bug reported: When I turn the screen reader on, I hear a lot of hissing and crackling noise every time the screen reader says something. [Bug 1888380] Re: Give better experience of migration of deb to snap
Note: this message is only shown when Chromium is actually migrated, not when a user installs the `chromium-browser` package manually. Given that this was the way to install chromium in previous released, many users do this without reading the description of the package. These users are also surprised that the snap is installed. [Bug 1741074] Re: [snap] chrome-gnome-shell extension fails to detect native host connector
I want to make this a bit more clear: Every single Belgian needs this functionality in order to do basic stuff like: * File their taxes * Read communication from the government * Check their medical history * Register for a (covid) vaccine * Rent stuff from the government * etc. It is vital that this issue is fixed before phasing out the Firefox deb package. With the Chromium apt package gone, there will be no alternative in the Ubuntu repositories to do these basic things in Belgium. It’s really nice that our government is supporting Ubuntu using open- source software (https://github.com/Fedict/eid-mw) using common standards and APIs. Breaking this vital functionality looks like a big middle-finger to them. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1741074 Title: [snap] chrome-gnome-shell extension fails to detect native host connector To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/keepassxc-snap/+bug/1741074/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
