I can confirm that using swapoff completely removes the hanging and
stuttering during heavy disk IO.
I don't see this only during file copy. Extracting archives, for
example, or saving virtual machine state to disk cause the same kind of
stuttering and hanging. It was
I have the same issue. `sudo systemctl restart maas-rackd.service`
worked for me.
Do you have any idea why this doesn't work automatically? I'm happy to

Just wanted to add that the issue mpt talk about is now fixed: in the
Gnome search view, system settings are now displayed very different from
applications.
Thus, the ideal solution is to add Software & Updates to Gnome Control
Center.
