Public bug reported:
After upgrading a Kubuntu Trusty x86_64 system to Utopic, VDPAU support
has stopped working in all applications that use libav. In mplayer2, it
prints Cannot find codec 'h264_vdpau' in libavcodec... and in VLC I
get [7f909958] vdpau_avcodec generic error: decoder
This seems to be due to an API change in libav. They dropped the old
API for using VDPAU decoding, which broke every application that uses
VDPAU through libav. https://libav.org/releases/libav-10.5.release

This is still happening on Kubuntu 14.10. GTK3 applications like

differed from the behavior of the upstart script.
Second, neither the systemd unit file nor the upstart script had support
for the DAEMON_OPTS variable from
Ah, OK, I hadn't read that. Makes sense, here is another debdiff that
only has the PostgreSQL and Restart=on-failure changes. Quassel doesn't
support MySQL, so I don't think adding mysql.service is necessary.
** Patch added: init.debdiff
Oops, I hadn't read that either. Sorry for the trouble.

After further reading and experimentation, it seems that the ExecStart=
directive cannot be overridden because the contents of the override file
are appended to the contents of the main unit file. This results in two
ExecStart= directives being present, which is illegal and prevents
systemd from
