properly it is a strange setup.

ps: this is particularly difficult to find because it is inconsistent
with the behavior of "normal" menus. for normal menus a right click
activates the current item just as a left click does. this menu looks
perfectly normal but has totally different behavior for right clicks vs.

Here is a log from IRC ubuntu-devel where Collin Watson said some things.
Bottom Line: you have to install a Clipboard Manager but Ubuntu is not
currently planning to install one by default. Installing a Clipboard Manager is
not seen as a workaround but as a solution.

sorry, but i don't have time to test with lucid alpha and/or mainline kernels.
as soon as i have updated to lucid once the final version is released i will
report back my findings.
the problem still happens sporadically, but only once in maybe three or four
weeks.
should i run apport-collect any
installed and made my virtualbox run again.
i have one problem with shared folders showing only one file/subfolder
per folder in some cases, but i changed from suns virtualbox to the ose
version from the official repository so i do not think this is related
to the kernel modules but another proble

Clipboard is broken. Gnome must include glipper b
the thing is:
nobody wants backup. it sucks.
but many people want restore...
(nearly) nobody wants/needs a clipboard manager.
but many people want/expect a working implementation of copy&paste -- and yes,
this includes pasting things copied from closed applications.
